Low pressure switches can be mounted at the air tanks ,on the line from the compressor to the tank next to the tank or at the foot valve air pressure line in to the foot valve.

Follow the biggest a/c line from start to finish.Usually the a/c port is located near the firewall.I have seen the port located under the passenger wheel well.There should be a decal that states the type freon on or near the fan shroud,core support or on the under side of the hood.It is most likely to be type r-12.You can purchase an r-134a conversion kit. If you are not a/c certified to use r-12,you do not need certification for r-134a.

You can jump the A/C clutch fan right on the compressor, be careful though. Lack of oil in the system will cost you a new A/C compressor.
Cheaper if you go to Auto Zone and by the recharge kit for your truck, I think it's like under $45.00 for the R134 canister with stop leak and the hose fitting.

look for the large ac line/hose and follow it untill u come to the small service port this is wher u charge the small ac line/hose has the large port this is the high side

The low pressure valve is down by the AC Compressor. It is part of the aluminum manifold that connects directly to the AC compressor. It is accessible from above, but easier to reach from under the car.
By the way, is there any particular reason why you want to recharge your AC system? If it isn't working, adding refrigerant will not necessarily fix the problem. If the refrigerant has all leaked out, you probably need to evacuate the system first.
