SOURCE: sunroof won't respond to controls on '93 Nissan Quest

It's either the switch or fuse or motor or rusted. Look in your car manual for "fuse box(es)' and follow the diagram and legend of your fuse panel. Or you can check each fuse to find a burnt out one and replace them. Sun roofs still working in "93's is a good design. If it has not been used for a season, you can try to help it when your activating switch. It could also be rust/corroding and needs to be freed up from it sitting position. When it opens get some good lubrication on the moving parts non conductive quality for electro parts. After you've check the fuse, switch, the motor will be hard to access to test it. So determine if it is NOT leaking, now do you want to chance it not sealing properly and leaking from your fuddling with it?

Nissan rogue sunroof wont slide open. It will tilt up but not slide

1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
2. Push and hold the sunroof switch toward 2 . Once the sunroof has reached the full tilt position, release the switch. Push and hold the switch toward the 2 position again. After a delay of four seconds, the sunroof will make a small movement and backup.
3. Release the switch.
4. Within 5 seconds of releasing the switch, push and continuously hold the switch toward 2 . The sunroof will move from the tilt position to the open position and back to the close position.

My 2004 tiburon moonroof is stuck doesn't open or close i can hear the motor going but the moonroof just doesn't move at all, first it was closing all the way down but was making a funny noise as...

In order to find out what's causing the problem, the headliner must be dropped (removed) to access the sunroof motor so it can be inspected and removed to inspect the slide cables up inside the sunroof/moonroof assy. Until that's done, there's not much more I can do to help except speculate.

How do i remove my sunroof in a 2002 nissan xterra

You have a "Flip Up" sunroof. The lever at the back of the sunroof that allows you to flip it open detaches from the headliner when you wish to remove the glass. Once you have the latch detached from the headliner you can push the glass up past the normal 3" or so that it normally opens when you flip it up. You will need to stand on the running board while opening it fully perpendicular to the roof of the car, (striaght up and down). Then the glass will slide out, I forget which way, but either towards the passenger side or the drivers side and voila, you have removed your sunroof!

Sunroof stuck open...electronic switch clicks when pushed to open position...but nothing when trying to close...can this be manually closed or is there a breaker or something that can be reset?

The roof slides along a channel actuated by a coiled cord.

Both of the cords pass along a gear attached to the Sunroof motor which pulles the cord tooth by tooth.

There are two plastic wedges that drop into the plastic slides on the sunroof (the plastic slides are behind the more forward metal slides.)

The plastic slides control the tilt of the roof when moved independantly. The plastic wedges join them.

If the roof moves too far back, it is possible for the wedges to stick up and jam the roof open.

This should never happen, but could if the two micro switches on the sunroof motor assy fail to provide feedback to the controller indicating the roofs position.

Access to the Sunroof motor requires you to drop the headliner.

To drop the headliner, the plastic pillar shrouds need to be removed front and back, the seatbelt bolts in the middle secion need to be removed, the oh-**** handle, the front visors, and cabin lights.

3 bolts hold the motor up.

With the motor down you can try* to manually actuate the cords using a flat screwdriver, but move the left and right side evenly a tooth at a time.

Of course of the plastic wedges are jammed, it's not going to budge.

Hope the info is helpful. good luck!

SUNROOF STUCK IN OPEN POSITION

Control Module might have issues.
Remove headliner (quite a job)
Unplug the the power leads to the sunroff motor
Use spare wires to use power from the overhead dome light to the power conections on the motor to get it to move a bit.
If it does not move, reverse the wires. If it sill does not move, then the Sunroof Motor is bad.
Otherwise, Re-connect the power leads to the motor and re-try the sunroof switch to get the roof closed..

Most likely the sunroof control module has a bad diode.
