I would clean the lens first and make sure they are aimed correctly. The headlamp in those is plenty bright. Period. Led's are just going to freak out the electrical system.

i drive in dark at knight for 10 years, swing. so i drive with high beams set, full time, and see all those deer and if I see one, i slow way down , you learn to look at them and tell they are going to do something "crazy" like jump, the way they look at you, if they are just walking ok but if f you get that look?, oh boy. I drove back roads, at 50mph, see 1 deer and its 25mph. or less. In some places the deer are vast , just at sunset. use the high beams and live. its a very serious matter, deer. you do know that modifying the lights is illegal right>? , not DOT certifed. Here ,you will fail state inspection. If dear just f jumps from bushes, no lights on earth will save you, nor cut it in half like star wars. sorry but all that is fact. (if really wanting to have more light , add huge light bars like they run in AFRICA. and a switch, there is no limits there, as its not one head lights on, so its only for offroad. (but you can use it all you want if the fuzz is not about.)

why not get it seviced if they are dim, the car is brand new 2014 and in full waranty, the lights are NOT Dim, day1 out of factory. not at all. (and driving faster than conditions permit is #1 on deer, besides the pureluck of bush jumps) i got lots of deer, experience, and and see deer , on high beems, out to say 1000 feet, sometimes just the eyes glowing. (then the brakes are hit, not later) use the Highs. and win. or avoid driving at that time of day. even my old 1988 jeep, with glass, sealed beam HL's worked great, but as the man says, never over drive that beam, if you cant stop inside the distance of that beam, then you will have problems, most not pretty.

that is the law , if you what , you might go to HIDs. but be aware the wiring stock is not going to handle that, it will take custom heavy wiring, and the TIPM , may get up set, as you many not know these (brain) check voltages at HL and if wrong sets up errors. and can defeat DRL if fitted,(canada) for LEDs to work you need a huge array of super bright LED, to get 150,000 CP. ( and i dont think they fit in any stock headlight form factor) so that means the LED must be external, if that is what you want , why be here, at all, why not get the 4wd shop fit them and do not connect them to the stock system, use your own switch and relay and heavy fuses. (and wires with proper gauge) its not like changing a light bulb, not hardly

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is targeting high-intensity discharge (HID) conversion kits for enforcement actions. NHTSA has concluded that it is impossible to produce HID conversion kits (converting a halogen system to HID) that would be compliant with the federal lighting standard, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108. The noncompliant kits frequently include a HID bulb, a ballast, an igniter, a relay and wiring harness adapters. The NHTSA believes this equipment presents a safety risk to the public since the kits can be expected to produce excessive glare to oncoming motorists. In one investigation, the NHTSA found that an HID conversion headlamp exceeded the maximum allowable candlepower by over 800%. Under FMVSS No. 108 Section S7.7 (replaceable light sources),

There's a small space behind inside fender. You can get your hand in there to grab and twist the back of the bulb to release it. You need a flashlight.

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee running lights do not work

Don't know if this will help but its how i fixed my 2001. Go to: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/2001-jeep-grand-cherokee-laredo-brake-lights-not-working-vt4814.html Tip: If you have a small piece of medal to put under the ground contact point then it will keep it raised in place, i used a really big staple from a staple gun to slide under mine I also replaced all the sockets that the bulbs go into cause mine were falling apart and may have been a part of the problem.

My headlights are really dim at night. But everyone says there fine. what should i do?

The headlights on my Tahoe are dim too. It's also a 1999. I replaced my bulbs with Silverstar's but it was still dim. I used Mequiar's Headlight kit to polish off the yellowing and oxidized headlight's and it really made them look good but they are still not bright. They look bright but the light hitting the road is still weak. It's because the inside of my headlights are a little bit cloudy still. The heat damage from the bulb made the insides cloudy and the light is still weak on the road at night. That's all I can do unless I replace the headlight assemblies. Much money and not super simple to do. I have very bright bulbs just cloudy housings that still don't allow the beam to fully shine through. I don't know if that is your issue but I hope this helps.

Head lights are not strong. I'm looking for strong and bright headlights. on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The car has only 70K miles.

Your headlights may have gone past their useful lifespan. You can replace them with a good halogen lamp and that should give you better lighting. Make sure they are aimed properly so the light is actually going where you need it and make sure the bulbs have a good ground. The newer "blue" lights are brighter but as far as I know, no one makes a kit yet to make a changeover.

96Grand Cherokee ,headlights

Why did you replace the switch without checking the headlight bulbs first? Suggest you check the headlight bulbs, if they are good, then check the connectors, if they are good, then check the fuse box. Sometimes there is a fuse for the healights right and left. If all of that is good check your ground connections. If all of that is good, then is to basics........check continuity on the harness, ensure there is current through the connector to the lights contact.

If all of athe above is good, then I always advise to check the fuse links. You might have burned one out. They are usually located near the battery.
