Some states don't allow an exception. You either get it fixed, sell it or don't drive it.

How many oxygen sensors are in bank 1 on 2012 chrysler town & country

If I remember correctly, you should have three sensors total. You will have an upstream bank 1 and an upstream bank 2 and then a downstream after the catalytic converter.

Bank1 sendor 1 02 sensor-where is it?

bank 1 means before convertor on manifold usually ! has to be cold when doing it and very careful not to break it when removing or installing. its done with a socket but some have special plugs so be carefull don't drop sensor. some have 2 or 3. o2 sensors. before replacing look for loose vaccum lines and if you don't find any then replace it. some times you can get a false reading and the fix will be something different.

Kia runs great but the 422 code keeps coming on can the o2 sensor be bad even if the thing runs great

Code P0422 deals with the catalytic converter. The pollution control / emissions system compares the oxygen sensor reading from the front of the converter, then compared it to the reading for the rear oxygen sensor and thus measures the health of the catalytic converter. Perhaps the sensor is starting to go, but likely it just means that your catalytic converter has to be replaced for proper engine function and to minimize the bad emissions from the tailpipe.
Catalytic converters are often welded right into the tail pipe system and requires a welder and the knowledge of how use it. Likely a muffler shop or your local mechanic can replace the catalytic converter.
You will not seriously harm your motor by running it with this condition for a short period of time, but you should deal with the issue before too long.

Po130 bank 1 sensor1 my question is where is bank1 sensor1 on a mercury montannier 98 v8

Bank 1 is always on the same side as the number 1 cylinder. Bank 2 is the other side of the engine. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

Bank 1 sensor 1 is on the passenger side before the catalytic converter.

Need to know were the bank one , sencer one is on my buick century 2000 v6

Oxygen sensors are always numbered like this:
Bank 1 sensor 1
Bank 2 sensor 1
Bank 1 sensor 2
Bank 2 sensor 2

Some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2

Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.

Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (The one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.

Hope helps (remember to rate this).

Hi, I need to take my 2001 Mazda 626 4cyln for SMOG check in CA. But its check engine light is on, diagnosed as code P0421. Appreciate your help to fix this problem, or just to pass the check. Thank you.

CODE P0421. DEFINITION-CATALYST EFFICIENCY LOW-BANK 1. EXPLANATION-THE OXYGEN SENSORS MONITOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ABILITY TO STORE OXYGEN. PROBLEM CAUSES- 1. CATALYTIC CONVERTER DEFECTIVE (FAILURE POSSIBLY DUE TO #2,3, OR 4) 2. ENGINE MISFIRE OR RUNNING CONDITION. 3. LARGE VACCUM LEAK 4. ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE INTO EXHAUST-VALVE GUIDE SEALS, PISTON RINGS. THE PCM HAS DETERMINED THAT THE WARM UP CATALYST EFFICIENCY FOR BANK 1 IS BELOW TRESHOLD FOR THE CURRENT ENGINE OPERATING CONDITION. (BANK 1 IDENTIFIES THE LOCATION OF CYLINDER #1, WHILE BANK 2 IDENTIFIES THE CYLINDERS ON THE OPPOSITE BANK).

replace O2 sensors, or your Catalytic Converter.

Po420 code monte carlo ls 2001

PO420 code is for catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1) Usually it means that it is time for a new catalytic converter on bank number 1. Cylinder bank number 1 is always the bank with the number 1 spark plug in it.

Not passing smog check

bank 1 is pass/side exhaustpipe/converter bank 2 is on the driverside, this car has two converters, so you have 4 oxygen sensors, one before and one after the converter on each side, so bank 1 sensor1 is pass/side before the converter, bank 1 sensor 2 is pass/side after the converter, then bank 2 sensor1 is driverside before the converter, before means starting at motor, then bank 2 sensor 2 is driverside after the converter, heres a diagram to help, i hope this is helpful.a9203dd.jpg33c9cf6.jpg
