SOURCE: Nissan Maxima 1997- Battery

Sounds as if you need the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The contacts inside are most likely worn out.

SOURCE: no start 2002 nissan sentra 1.8 litre

Its almost impossible for this car to jump timing or break chain. If the vehicle still had adequate power while driving before this happened the chain is fine. About the recall, that's the most likely thing that is causing you NOT to start the CRANK SENSOR. To find out if recall was performed call Nissan's 800 number or any local nissan dealer in your neck of the woods and by giving then the VIN number the will be able to tell you if it was done. Good Luck Thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: 2001 Nissan Maxima computer fried, any recalls?

Iac valves short out and fry the computer. Be sure to check and replace the Idle air control valve if needed. If not replaced the computer will fry. Generally it costs less to program a used one than get a new one.

Been using 87 octane in '02 maxima for 1yr. have replaced oxy & nkock sensors. Is this due to low octane?

Ok the 2002 Maxima 3.5 requires premium fuel 91 octane. According to the owners manual for optimum performance use 91 octane, you can use 87 octane unless you get pinging sounds. Sounds like you just need to use the proper octane. Occasionally I will run regular 87 and can really feel a loss of power. When I use 91 octane the car is a rocket ship.

Have the trouble codes read and they will tell you what is wrong and needs to be fixed on your car. Most larger auto parts store will scan the codes for free and give you a printout of what's wrong.

Try going to your local parts store (such as AutoZone) and ask about the transmission control solenoid. Go here for the direct link to their website with that specific part for your 91 maxima.

See if you have a leak in any of your coolant tubes. If no leaks, you may have a bad thermostat that is stuck closed and needs to be replaced asap.
