I have issues with belt squealing on Suzuki swift. The car is a 2005 (new model) 1.3 petrol. Just before christmas the original 9 year old belt, I replaced the belt and squealing persisted, a week later the replacement belt snapped and another new belt was fitted persuming the replacement must have been faulty. It has since gone again and the squealing is constant, trigger by full steering lock. I have changed the water pump and the belt is still squealing, I am now faced with new alternator, new battery, new power steering pump or power steering fluid. Does anyone have any advice?
If this has an automatic belt tensioner on it this sounds like the tensioner is weak and needs replacing. a weak or bad tensioner does and can cause belt squealing and can throw the belt alignment off causing your problem.
Use a stethoscope (costs $5)
find which accessory is seized.
or feel them by hand belt off, omg this ones, tight. or feels like coffee grinder, or? sounds bad, is bad.
all in 5 mins work running, with steth. take car around belts
or let a PRO do it. called service. get it serviced.? not get shirt sleeves caught in running belts. ? (we roll our's up)

some power steering system is computer control. if you disconnect battery the control module have to be program.the control module uses vechicle speed sensor and steering wheel rotation sensor.to operate an actuator in the power steering pump to control pump pressure and steering assistance.

hey there, that car might have a self tensioner pulley,,meaning you find the right bolt and when you turn it one way or another the belt will become loose itself some cars employ that method,,,,
SOURCE: 2005 Suzuki Forenza warning light: Right side of
Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SSPS) Warning Light Your vehicle is equipped with Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SSPS). This is a computer-controlled power steering assist system. The warning light you are describing will come on briefly when you turn the ignition to ON as a check to show you the bulb is working. Then it should go out after a few seconds. If the warning light does not come on, have it fixed so it will be able to warn you if there is a problem. If the warning light stays on, or comes on while you are driving, the SSPS system may not be working.
Your computer will need to be scanned to determine what the problem is with your SSPS system.

Hello, if you are losing coolant as you say than the most probable place is through your head and into your exhaust system, it is highly likely you have a cracked head or a major head gasket leak. The only other place it can go is if you have a automatic vehicle with the cooler on the bottom of the radiator tank (crack between two tanks), it will go straight into your transmission, you can tell if the transmission oil is overfull and watery (thin and whitish).
