Find a live mech, to find noise, nobody here will ever guess cause.
we cant hear . nor use stereoscopic hearing to tell directions.

Testimonial: "not much help but the transfer case has a chain in it,I thought someone would say that was the noise."

ok lets guess, now, just to show futililty deaf, u-joints bad, ? engine rad fan gone nuts? transmission noise, or transfer case, noise. or engine noise. ,engine accessory noise, or any thing mounted to engine loose, or engine mounts, or Cat/exhaust noise, they sometimes have shields that when cracked, will vibrate in sympaty to drive line vibs. seen many do that. but gee why not get a person that can hear, , touch car, and do tests, and stop guessing.

I have a wireless electronic stethoscope to find the hard ones, (on the move only noise) you don't so... its not going to be easy, nor safe, checking noise, in OD, if simple inspections fail. see?

What is O/D button on Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for?

the Overdrive button puts it into a mode for towing.

If you are towing something press the button to turn off the overdrive function, for better pulling torque.

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission slips in overdrive

sounds like a possible shift solenoid. If it's due for a fluid change, do that and add a container of lucas trans conditioner. Likely you have a drain plug on the pan so if the fluid was recently serviced, just drain a quart out and replace with the additive, then top off.
If the condition does not change within a week, likely you will need better diagnosis from a reputable trans shop.

When the 93'(6cyl)jeep is in drive it won't move unless I give it a lot of gas but if I put it in reverse it moves by itself w/out me adding any gas. In drive mode it seems like I'm driving w/the break on,...

It sounds like you have lost first gear in your transmission. I have a 93 Grand Cherokee and recently suffered the same problem. The problem is most likely in the transmission valve body. You should stop driving the vehicle immediately to prevent doing more damage to the rest of the transmission. Sounds like you will most likely need a rebuild

2001 grand cherokee laredo makes whirring noise when in overdrive,as soon as we take it out of overdrive the noise stops. Changed front half shafts and bearings, but the noise is still there.

The rear ends on this make an model are a weak point.
Overdrive and Reverse are usually the first gears to show symptoms when the transmission is going bad.. You should seek the advice of a mechanic.
