Dude I got the same problem... THAT WIRE IS TO THE BUILT IN AMP/SPEAKERS. First you need the premium ford stereo wiring harness. Scosche # FDK10B. or Metra # AW-WHFPS. Neither brand has proper colored power wires tho. Get the wiring diagram for the 88 town car from google cross match the wires up on power supply plug (dont forget the ground) poof your done!

Steering Wheel - Are you talking about the horn wire or the air bag harness? I'm sorry, but the diagrams did not transfer over to fixya.com from my online resource which shows a wire harness going to the back of the rectangular button assembly or the air bag assembly that is removed before the steering wheel is removed.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
1988-89 Vehicles

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the horn pad and cover assembly. Disconnect the horn electrical
    connector.
  3. Disconnect the cruise control switch electrical connector, if equipped.
  4. Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt. Remove the steering wheel using
    a suitable puller.
NOTE: Do not use a knock-off type steering wheel puller or
strike the retaining bolt with a hammer. This could cause damage to the steering
    shaft bearing.

    To install:

  5. Align the index marks on the steering wheel and shaft and install the
    steering wheel.
  6. Install a new steering wheel retaining bolt and tighten to 30-35 ft. lbs.
    (41-47 Nm).
  7. Connect the cruise control electrical connector, if equipped.
  8. Connect the horn electrical connector and install the horn pad and cover.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

1990-00 Vehicles
CAUTION
The air bag system must be disarmed, before
working on the system. Failure to do so may result in deployment of the air bag
and possible personal injury.

  1. Center the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
  2. Properly disarm the air bag system; see the procedure in Section 6.
  3. Remove the 4 air bag module retaining nuts and lift the module off the
steering wheel. Disconnect the air bag wire harness from the air bag module and
remove the module from the steering wheel.
    CAUTION
When carrying a live air bag, make sure the
bag and trim cover are pointed away from the body. In the unlikely event of an
accidental deployment, the bag will then deploy with minimal chance of injury.
When placing a live air bag on a bench or other surface, always face the bag and
trim cover up, away from the surface. This will reduce the motion of the module
    if it is accidentally deployed.

  4. Disconnect the cruise control wire harness from the steering wheel, if
    equipped.
  5. Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt. Remove the steering wheel using
a suitable puller. Route the contact assembly wire harness through the steering
wheel as the wheel is lifted off the shaft.
NOTE: Do not use a knock-off type steering wheel puller or
strike the retaining bolt with a hammer. This could cause damage to the steering
    shaft bearing.

    To install:

  6. Make sure the front wheels are in the straight-ahead position.
  7. Route the contact assembly wire harness through the steering wheel opening
at the 3 o'clock position and install the steering wheel on the steering shaft.
The steering wheel and shaft alignment marks should be aligned. Make sure the
air bag contact wire is not pinched.
  8. Install a new steering wheel retaining bolt and tighten to 23-33 ft. lbs.
    (31-45 Nm).
  9. Connect the cruise control wire harness to the wheel and snap the connector
assembly into the steering wheel clip. Make sure the wiring is not trapped
between the steering wheel and contact assembly.
  10. Connect the air bag wire harness to the air bag module and install the
module to the steering wheel. Tighten the module retaining nuts to 24-32 inch
    lbs. (2.7-3.7 Nm).
  11. Enable the air bag system according to the procedure in Section 6.

SOURCE: radio in 88 lincoln town car doesn't pick up

Probably bad antenna wire at the antenna itself. Try plugging a piece of bare wire into the antenna hole (the 1/8" hole in the center) on radio, you should get something, hissing or some sound.

Hi I'm looking stereo wiring diagram for nissan micra s 2003 to connect new market stereo harness

Hi, you can usually buy a stereo wiring harness that plugs right into your car and they are color coded to match the standard aftermarket wire radio harness, all you do is take the plug from your new stereo and match the wires with the adapter, just connect the matching wire colors. it's super easy and well worth the $15-20, and you don't have to cut up your factory harness.
good luck!

F5TF-19B132-BA Ford Radio Pin out

The stereo pin layout can be obtained from the car dealership, also a repair manual should have the stereo wiring harness layout in it , the stereo harness adapter for installing non oem stereo, found at the local auto parts store will come with the wiring layout, wires are color coded too, sometimes the stereo harness or stereo harness adapter will have small writing on the wires itself, showing you what that wire is for, and where it should connect.

Basically it comes down to, obtaining the stereo wiring layout, read the description on the wires, and properly connect them together, then solder the wires or crimp them, I like to solder mine with soldering wire for electronics, and put shrink tubes to protect the wires, put the shrink tubes on the wires before soldering together, and ensure the shrink tube is the proper size awg wire gauge.

You will also need, aftermarket face adapter kit and antenna adapter, if installing aftermarket stereo.

Hope this helps and enjoy the stereo :)
