Re: how do i take a chrysler corporation model no....
Stop by a sound shop for auto's or most parts stores and they should have an adapter that plugs in to convert one to other automatically and not have to guess or play with existing wiring.

It depends if they have matching numbers or not. their should be no wireing harness needed only wiring harness needed if replacing with after market radio
The one with six wires is probably the power of the last radio and the one with 9 is the one for the speakers. I would really recommend an after market radio as in this day and age it will probably be cheaper and more efficient. It will play mp3, bluetooth, you can hook up your iphone etc.
You will only require to get a wiring harness for the make and model of your car and you have a hot new sony, kenwood, jvc etc. A 13 year old radio may not work for you.
There may be extra wires you don't need. The basic set of wires on the radio is 4 pairs of colored wires--one black-striped and one plain for each speaker. Yellow is usually accessory power, red is hot, and black is ground. Some additional wires may be one for a power antenna, one for an external amplifyer, and one for facelight (in case it will run on dimmer)
The car should have the following corresponding wires:
Radio 12v--- orange Radio Ground--- black Radio Ignition--- yellow Radio Illumination--- brown Dimmer--- gray Power Antenna--- pink (if you have one) LF Speaker +/- tan - grey RF Speaker +/- lt green - dk green LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow RR Speaker +/- dk. blue- lt. blue
The car or radio could have additional connectors, such as for a subwoofer, CD changer, etc.
check for fuses under the hood? and I think that the wires are memory illumination power and acc./ ant. probably a momentary hot controlled by the radio itself. used for factory amplifiers and electric antenna. so you should have... the constant hot (memory) only hot when lights are on (ill.) only hot when radio is turned on (amp / ant) and switched. thats why I think there must be a fuse under the hood I'll look for a diagram and post back. what I find
DOES THE RADIO PLAY? HERE ARE THE FACTORY WIRING COLORS FOR THE RADIO HARNESS, RECHECK YOUR WORK. IF U FIND NOTHING THEN IF THE RADIO PLAYS THE CD PLAYER IS DEFECTIVE, IT HAPPENS BELIEVE ME.

YOU WILL HAVE TO TRACE THE WIRES OUT, DO U HAVE A SEPERATE AMPLFIER? MANY OF THESE VANS DO, IF SO THAT IS THE PROBLEM.
