The blend door actuator is one of the heating control units found in the center console. Purchase a console tool and remove the plastic console cover after dismantling the front of the heating control. There should be a series of clips that hold the plastics on. Once you get to this point you'll want a tray to keep track of screws. Unscrew the mounts for the control unit and pull them out, taking care not to damage the ribbons or cables connecting the unit to the heating and cooling unit. Unplug the offending actuator from the control unit and plug the new one in. Then reverse process to reinstall the control unit and plastics.

You can find diagrams on google, and the actuator on amazon.com or rockauto.com.

NOTE: Caution; make sure to disconnect the battery to prevent potential electric shock.

The actuator motor is on the passenger side, under glove box to the left. Pull it out and make sure the blend door moves freely, if not the dash must come out and the door be replaced or the new actuator will fail.

I need to replace the starter on 2000 toyota avalon

REMOVAL
  1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP or top of air cleaner assembly
  2. REMOVE BATTERY AND TRAY
  3. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR
    1. Disconnect the actuator connector and clamp.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts, and disconnect the actuator with the bracket
  1. REMOVE STARTER
    1. Disconnect the starter connector.
    2. Remove the nut, and disconnect the starter cable.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts, throttle cable clamp and starter. Torque: 39 Nm (400 kg.cm, 29 ft.lb)
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
