I think all that is left is the switch. Can you test to see if it is getting power and if it passes it on?

SOURCE: trouble shooting blower motor on 1997 dodge gran caravan

Check the heat/ac relay first making sure it is working.remove it clean the contacts and reattach. Then check the Resistor component. It is usually located near the blower or on the blower motor itself. It is attached with a couple of screws and a plug between the blower motor and the wiring. Please vote if this helps you.

SOURCE: Lincoln 2000 town car Blower doesn't work at HI-MED-LOW speeds...

it is called blower motor resistor , should be close to blower motor , you will see a plug type connector with two screws , remove the screws and there should be a resistor inside the cover for the motor, swap with new and reassemble

A/c blower motor works if I pull power and plug back in until I cut engine off. Then I have to repeat process

Daryl, You may want to check the blower relay/ just switch with one of same type and try and if OK, problem could be the blower motor, wires/plug loose, damaged, burnt or a faulty blower motor resistor. Second link has some trouble shooting of a overheating wire problem, that is to be common in these trucks. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I need to know the location of my blower relay. Already changed out the blower resistor, that did not remedy the problem (fan will not come on). Yes, I installed it correctly.

The blower relay is for high speed fan only most of the time . Do you know how to test electrical circuits ? It sure cuts down on buying unneeded parts . Here watch this video , this is a Chrysler vehicle . Don't know what you have , doesn't matter . They all work pretty much the same . I suggest you watch a few other trouble shooting videos as well .Is Chrysler Blower Motor Test subscriber requested video This next vehicle is a GM product , this one uses a relay for high blow only . 2010 DODGE caravan a/c blower fan inop have replaced reistor and control head rear fan works have checked all relays and fuses

Hi Jim, I will try my best to help you. First off, let see what we are losing at the blower motor. Three things I want you to do. #1-With a multi-meter check the power side at the blower motor connector and see if you have a full 12 volts. #2-With a test light hooked to the battery positive terminal, check the ground side at the blower motor connector to see if you have a good ground, the test light should be good and bright. #3-With the multi-meter set on ohm's check across the actual blower motor connector a resistance reading of up too 7 ohms is OK, but if you have a reading above like 14 to 22 ohms then replace the motor. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Jim!

Trouble shoot heater fan on a 1996 Plymouth Voyager Van

Check for 12 volt power to resistor under dash on passenger side. Follow wires from under glove box (from blower motor) to resistor, which will be where wires are connected on duct work. You should be able to test for 12 volt DC power there.

Trouble shoot blower motor switch

Often times the problem is the blower resistor not the switch.
You would use a meter or a test light to check for power at the resistor and also the switch. The resistor controls power to the blower motor to adjust speed.

Heat fan stopped working..is it a fuse?

Hi!!
It could be the Blower Motor Fuse or Relay and they should be located in the cabin Fuse Box, if both are OK, it could be the blower motor resistor, located on the blower motor housing, it is the part where the electrical connector goes into and it's got a pigtail connector that goes to the blower motor, it is attached to the blower housing by three screws. Here are some pictures for better identification.
FRONT VIEW 1kbron_5.jpg
CONNECTOR FROM RESISTOR TO BLOWER MOTOR 1kbron_6.jpg
SIDE VIEW 1kbron_7.jpg

To test it, make sure the electrical connector has voltage when the FAN is on, if voltage is present, it means relay and fuse are OK, plug the connector into the resistor and check voltage on the pigtail connector, if voltage is present, the resistor is OK, voltage varies according to the speed selected. To check the blower motor, apply 12 volts and ground the the motor terminals, it should kick in in Hi speed, if not Replace Blower Motor.
A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Heater/AC Fan does not work in our 1998 Buick Century

Fan will be under dash on passengers side , Removing glove box might be needed, Gm also uses a blower resister ro control fan speeds. First check your fuse and then check and make sure your getting 12 volts to the terminal at the blower, You could have a blown fuse, a bad switch, or a bad resister , if your getting voltage to blower motor then most likely it will be the motor. These are not to difficult to change. I hope this helps, please be aware I can only guess at what the problem is from my past experience.

1995 ford explorer blower motor

Basically, you have a fan relay that has shorted and burned. The relay is used because of the different power setting needed for the fan speeds.

Trouble shoot all fuses, incase you blew a fuse when the relay went. The relay burned but that did not effect the motor, thats why the motor runs well.

To find the location of the hi speed fan relay, check with your local parts store to see if they can bring it up on a computer.
