Going from a dead stop, step on the pedal and it has no power off the top and then it seems like the engine catches up with the transmission and you get the big thump and you have power to both.. I know very little about cars, but my neighbor told me it may be a vacuum problem. Test drove it and said that my transmission is fine and the engine is fine also, just seems like I'm having somekind of vacuum issue.. He stated that it can be caused by different situations, what would be the most common? I checked my vacuum connection and it appears fine.. Where else should I look, or should I have a diagnostic done and will that tell me the code to the problem? Thanks..
SOURCE: transmission filter
That car was available with 2 different transmissions.1 is the CD4E.That trans, the filter is only accessable if rebuilding the trans. You literally have to tear down the trans to get to the filter,so just drain and refill that one on a service. The other trans it could have is the GF4AEL,and that one has two pans. The filter is located in the bottom pan.Good luck.
SOURCE: where is the starter located on 2000 mazda 626 lx
if u open the hood and stand on the right hand side of the car at the wheel facing the engine its on the right hand side of the gearbox under inlet manifold
SOURCE: how do you replace the starter on a 99 mazda 626
its not to bad to do it yourself. you will have to jack up that car pretty high and us some good flexible ratchets to get the bolts off. you can follow the wires from the battery cables and it will connect to the starter. make sure you disconnect the battery first. you will see it to your left from the center of the engine when you are laying underneath your car. kinda looks like a cylinder attached to the engine. if you cant do it have a pro mess with it unless you have time on your hands. make sure to check the wire connectors to the starter or else it will make poor contact and drain your battery as well. they start to rot after being over 10 yrs old but you cant tell unless you peel off the tape or rubber molding on the copper wires.
