My 2011 mustang has 55 thousand miles on it and 10 grand in upgrades from a great mech shop iam out of town and drove thru some water on the road now it spits and sputters at high rpms and will stall at idol everything has been fine untill i drove slowly thru the water intake snorkel is dry it started running better and i didnt notce the sputtering then i let the car sit for a hour and cranked it back up and it started sputtering again
You may have poor ignition wires that need to be replaced or a bad electrical connection that is affected by water either for the ignition system or the fuel injection system. just some places to look.

Many possibilities:
Is it a Diesel?
Camshaft position sensor recall may cover it.
Gas or Diesel:
Fuel Pump and/or relay.
Fuel Filter.
Engine codes could help if Check Engine Light is on.

It's got all the symptoms of a leak in the fuel line. You may want to start backward at the tank and work your way all the way to the carb to find it but it would be surprising if it was something else. All the best.

check your fuel pump and filter,filter may be dirty ,fuel pump may not be pushing anough presser,or your pressure ragulator my be leaking
