Re: in my 350gs afs off light is on the dash what does...
The switch is up underneath the dash, to the right of the steering column and the amber led light for the foot well. it's best to stick your head under the dash to see it. good luck.

Switch labelled 'AFS OFF' is down near the fuel door release.'AFS' means Adaptive Front lighting System (at night with the Bi-Xenon headlights) it swivels either side, pressing that button means they stay pointing straight ahead and don't turn when you turn the steering wheel. You need to push the button again to turn the AFS back on.
that means that it is not utilizing the overdrive gear in the transmission. there should b a button on the shifter or on the dash to turn the overdrive back on. Consult your owners manual for the exact location.
it means that you're traction control is disabled. You are now able to spin tires/burn out. If you do not want to do that, locate the button to turn it back on... usually it just says TRAC on the button, usuallly located towards the bottom of the dash.
Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) is used when for example if it was
day time and you entered a dark parking garage the lights would detect
and adapt to the lighting environment which will then automatically
trigger the Bi-xenon headlights to turn on themselves in order to
illuminate the road ahead when the vehicle anticipates it is necessary.
It is an automatic feature which turns on by itself for your convenience
therefore you wont have to induce any actions, the car does it all for
you. And most Importantly (I quote) "the Adaptive Front lighting System
(AFS) automatically controls the headlight lighting pattern according to
steering angle and vehicle speed to help provide better visibility at
night."
This is a possible sensor malfunction - related to Suspension Height circuit.
Whenever a warning light of this nature is displayed, your vehicle's onboard diagnostic OBDII will have store the appropriate Trouble Codes.
Your local Lexus Dealership will be able to connect their handheld scanner to your vehicle's computer, which will then tell them where the problem lies (this would take less than 30mins to diagnose - marvellous machines they are!)
Lexus will then direct you on the appropriate action.
