Hi, I bought my 2nd-hand 2003 Pajero IO 1800cc which ran 133000km at the half year ago. The engine light was total turn on 4 times up to now. 1st time at 133,000 km, the engine light turned on suddenly during driving, the car was shaking heavily. And then I stopped and fired off the engine immediately. After 15mins, I have restarted the engine, the light was off and continued to drive back home. The next day I changed the engine oil, the problem seems to be solved. 2nd and 3th times at 137,000km, there was a same problem. The engine light turned on suddenly during driving, the car was shaking heavily. And then I stopped and fired off the engine immediately. After 15mins, I have restarted the engine, the light was off and continued to drive back home. Learning from the 1st time, I was changed the engine oil in the next day. But this time the problems could not be solved. The day after changed the engine oil, the engine light was on when I start the car. Later on, I asked a professional to check my car and clean the engine. After cleaning the engine, the problem seems to be solved again. 4th time at 138,000km yesterday, the engine light turned on suddenly during driving. At that time, my speed about 50km, but this time the car didn't shake heavily and I didn't fired off the car and keep driving. About 10mins later, the light was turned off itself, and I continue to drive back home. Do you have any suggestions about my engine light problem? Thanks!

Buy an OBD2 (OBDii) reader and check the engine fault code history.
Wifi, bluetooth, or wired devices are available on ebay.

Hi I have pajero IO imported from Japan. The car would turn on a "check engine" if not use for days. When a negative of the battery is taken off, the check engine gets off and the car starts. However

Get a voltmeter or take your battery in to a shop and have it tested to see if it is putting out too much voltage. Sometimes when you take the negative cable off the battery to reset codes, the car has to be started and ran a short distance for a handful of times in order for the computer to reset itself.

Pajero not startingI have Pajero IO 2003, GDI 1.830 turbo. When I start it in the morning, I must try 3 time for it to start. Please help

a few things could be the cause , one is glow plugs , two is injectors are dirty which usually gives black smoke out exhaust , three is injection pump leaking , and four dirty fuel filter . these are things I would check .

Pejero engine turns over but wont fire check engine warning lamb stays on

For check engine light on,its definitely error code stored in the cars computer.,Getting the error code scanned by OBD 1 scan too, is advisable.
