Why HOLD shows on the dashboard of a mazda 323?

trade it in quick or fit a manual gearbox this is expensive

I have a 2000 Mazda 121 metro with hold light flashing. It only comes on the first time I drive car each day, once I turn car off and start again after driving about 100 metres it goes away. If I don't turn car off it seems to not have proper power and is very very slow to pick up speed after stops ?? Pls help

check the oil if its full replace tranny

I know this question is old but I recently encountered a similar problem with my 1995 323 BA and this may help someone else. Override the immobilizer by doing the following:


open the car via the drivers door
put the key in the ignition
turn the key to ACC
now turn the key to ON
repeat the last 2 steps X 12 quickly (ignore the indicators flashing and the central locking activating).
the dashboard should be lighting up as normal.
Now turn the key to START

operate your instrument panel dimmer switch. If this does not rectify the problem replace dimmer switch

Sounds like the lambda sensor! for the emmisions

There's most likely an issue with your transmission. Bring it to a shop to have it scanned for any codes

You need to replace the leaking heater matrix which is located in the heater box behind the dashboard / centre console

Have you checked air and fuel filters? If dirty or never changed (fuel) - replace them.

is the over drive mode on an automatic on when the hold light apears or does this mean it is off?
