SOURCE: Overheated, now won't start

I would pull the plugs and check them for the presence of water beads. Any time an engine overheats severely, there is a good chance of having a blown head gasket and if this happens, when cooling, coolant can be sucked past the breach into one or more cylinders.

1999 Mazda Familia sedan 'Hold Light' on and flashing. What could be the problem please?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

You have a transmission fault. Check the level of the ATF Fluid but you probably need a transmission specialist.

Hi, the heater on my 1989 mazda familia 323 doesn't go hot. it works on cold though. i had a mechanic friend look at it and he thinks there is a part missing that changes it from hot to cold but he doesn't...

sounds like the heater tap has been bypassed. find the two holes or pipes that come out of the firewall or bulkhead and follow the hoses. if they do not have two seperate hoses on them then thats the problem. buy a heater tap and fit it with some new hose
