Concerned, I have a 09 Nissan Murano and when Im driving the truck sounds like Im just in park and pressing on the gas. It wont go pass 2 rpms and it is slugglish and wont accelerate right away. I tok

let me guess the mech tested the car and it ran OKAY, so says" I can't find the problem. " ( what else")
you never told what the engine does , when it does fail and is Intermittent.
just that engine is ON. (runs)
and car does not move, sometimes.
what matters first, only when it fails, is does ENGINE RPM RISE fast and high when it fails.
see how that works, if it did the transmission is slipping (CVT are not fun here)
2500 RPM when it fails, right foot in to the throttle pedal this is transmission slip (failure)
if RPM are low failed, that is engine failure. (lean burning) or EGR stuck on or other problems , many.

lost engine power. has lots of causes; but this is gas(petrol) answer.

1: engine failing ,top cause , VVT or that chain loud noise? ?
2: spark plugs bad over 100k miles, (not diesel)
3: fueling bad, even bad fuel, or goes lean due to fuel pressure loss.(low) fuel pump weak?

try new spark plugs and spark cop boots? 100k service point is is. and gaps will be way off ,when old

possible problem cv joints or drive shafts
check with a drive line specialist shop as some manufacturers fit a balance to the shafts to stop vibration
have them check the cv joints while you are there

The engine and the Trans are in timing with each other from the factory...If the RPMs are revving up but the TRANS isn't keeping up with the Engine The problem sounds to be in the trans...Unless your calipers are sticking and holding you back....!?...A Throttle position Sensor can give you problems because It controls the throttle but normally if it is faulty it should run rough at any level....Same goes for the Idle Air Control valve....A fault in either of these components will produce abnormal RPMs and a rough running engine....Early signs of a clogged fuel filter will stall you while going up a hill also.....Of course the engine will get a temperature increase because it is being overworked....It may not be as hot as you think considering the gauge reading you described...You would have to use a handheld thermometer for a positive engine degree reading....However if it is evidently boiling hot and gauge reads normal it sounds like a faulty sensor in which case is a different problem....Make sure coolant is full to be safe......m..

sounds like transmission problem? check it out at a shop. does it sound like its revving high through out acceleration? my murano stays at 2-3k at those speeds

also note the are hose is subject to a recall so be sure this has been done...

Need to relearn the pcm. You may find steps to do so in a nissan forum. However, it's best to have a certified mechanic do it for you..

I would have the engine checked for a coolant leak that may have allowed the introduction of air into a closed system. how's the antifreeze level?

I recently experienced the same symptom with my '05 Murano and it was not a fuel problem. The dealer listed the cause as dry axle splines and replaced both front drive shaft assy's. Note that this was done as warranty with no cost incurred by me.

Funny....thats a safety feature ford now uses. Keeps you from blowing the engine and no you cant by pass it. So yes its natural. But nice to know that someone still trys to feed some speed.....
