The right high beam headlight will not work

. I replaced the bulb and it did not work. I checked with a multimeter and it has voltage going to the lamp assembly. I am a learning technician and electrical is a struggle for me. Both headlights work, left high beam works, turn signals work, dash indicator for high beams works only sometimes, interior lights work and all other work. I have a wiring diagram but i don't know much about those yet. I really need help with this one so i can get it out the door. "ASAP"

Swap the one headlight bulb you know works on both dip and high beams into the assembly which has problems.

Put the newly bought bulb into the headlamp assembly you know works.

Now switch the lights on and try high and low beams.

if the known good bulb only works on high beam and not on low, you have a wiring problem or a connector problem at that side.

If your brand new bulb doesn't work on low beam, you have a stuffed new bulb, faulty from the manufacturer. It happens.

Buy and fit another new bulb.

Please invest in a spray can of electrical contact cleaner, and use this every time you take off and replace connectors as it will stop problems with arcing caused by crap also known as corrosion interfering with the flow of Electrickery.

good luck.

Rav 4 2005 suddenly both head light stop working when l flash it both works too . What to check and how to fix it

When you flash you're operating the high beams, not low beams. Check for battery voltage on the red/black wired at the bulb connector. If you don't see battery voltage, the fuse is blown or the wiring is bad. Also, does this vehicle have daytime running lights?

No power to right side (PS) headlight low beam plug socket, new bulb, fuse is good. High beam works, blinker works, park light works. just no low beam and doesn't register any voltage on volt meter.

check low beam fuse when switched on if it has voltage registering across the fuse ,if there is voltage across the low beam RHS fuse then it is possibly a pinched wire from the headlight running back towards inside of the car

I have a 2006 civic SI. DRL indicator is on, driver side low and high beam ok. Passenger side low beam ok but DRL and hi beam not working. Any help is appreciated.

When either the high or low beam light is out in either side, DRL (daytime running lights) indicator will come on. When one bulb goes out, that's a clue the opposite bulb will burn out soon, so its best to replace both bulbs. If it was a fuse issue, both left and right side would be out. If driver side is OK but passenger side is not, then its a bulb issue. A 2006 Honda civic takes 9006 (HB4) low beam bulbs and 9005 (HB3) high beam bulbs. Cheapest is online from Walmart site-2-store. After procuring, wear latex, vinyl, or ANY gloves to keep your (corrosive) oil skin from coming in contact with headlight glass bulbs. Your skin oil will chemically react and cause shorter life span on glass bulbs. Instruction don't tell you this, so you handle with your hands, then need to replace bulbs 3 years later instead of 5 years (or more) in the future. With gloves on, pop the hood and look behind each headlight. Turn counter clockwise to unlock headlight bulb holders. Its a quarter to half turn to unlock bulb holder lock. Replace one bulb at a time so you don't confuse high beam from low beam. The wire has a tab you need to lift to pull out & disconnect wire connector. You might need a slim narrow-**** (NOT phillips) screwdriver to lift the tab; or use your house key. Snap the wire connector to the new bulb, then twist into headlight housing to secure bulb holders, then move on to the next bulb to repeat the procedure. Pict below, 9005 high beam is on the left, 9006 low beam is on the right. Handle by grasping the plastic base, not the glass bulbs. The raised potrusion on the bottom center is where the tab locks onto wire connector. Replace all 4 bulbs now, but in the future, its likely the low beam will wear out before the high beam. In the future, replace only the pair, not all 4. The factory installs inferior bulbs that go out sooner, hoping you'll take to dealership and they ******** you with higher parts-n-labor fees. As opposed to Walmart online site-2-store, it would cost you AT LEAST triple in parts & labor from dealership to replace all 4 headlight bulbs :-(

Headlights wont come on

some times just the low beam filament in the bulb will blow out and the high beam filament will continue to work. Buy new bulbs.

Low beams do not work, both left and right. high beams do work. Fuses checked and are good.

I would test the sockets/wiring with a multimeter. Sometimes a bad low beam bulb could cause this issue. See if your getting voltage at the headlights.
Thanks,

The low beam headlight bulb has burned out twice in the last two weeks. Surely both replacement bulbs were not faulty. What else could be the problem causing bulbs to blow?

You can be unlucky with replacement headlight bulbs not lasting very long. However you should get the alternator charging voltage checked, as too high an output can really shorten globe life. If you have a multimeter the voltage across the battery terminals should be between 13.8 to 14.2 Volts. Some alternators go up to 14.3 V with no load, but anything higher than that should be investigated. A high alternator output voltage will also considerably shorten battery life.

Low beam dosent work. bulb is good highbeam works cant find fuse for lights. its not underhood

Hi,
It has been because the lamp bulb or halogen lamp module has reached the end of its serviceable life, not because of any wiring problems. Low beam burns out first because it is on the most. If low beam is lost simultaneously in both headlights, I would check fuse first, then the headlight switch. If low beam is lost on one side only, it is almost always going to be due to the bulb or lamp module needing to be replaced. In that case, replace them in both headlights because the other one will be going kaput in short order, as well.
Most like the low beam filiment is bad but the high beam filiment is still good, try replacing bulb. If replacing bulb does not fix problem then you probably have voltage problems and should check the voltage reading and the plug.
OR
isolate the wire that comes from the headlight switch to the headlamp bulbs for low beam and check to see if there is a short in the wire. You can find this wire by using a test light turn on the key and get a good ground with the test light poke the wire and see if the test light illunimates with the headlight switch on.
check the wires, and check the fuse for your lowbeams. could of blown a fuse on your lows, but your highs will still work.

The fuse box is located in the engine compartment,on the driver's side. Has thumb-screw retained cover.

My r/f high beam is out, so I replaced the bulb but I still have no high beam. Also my daytime running lights stopped working, could they possibly be related?

Yes your daytime running light just uses the headlight bulb on a lower voltage so if the headlight is not working the drl will not work as well, they are dirrectly related,,check the head light fuse, and check to make sure the bulb is good,,
