SOURCE: 1998 tahoe brake lights don't work replaced switch

There is a clip that gets worn on the brake pedal that holds the switch tight to one side. It must be put on correctly or else the brake lights will come on for a split second and then go out when you push the brake pedal down further.

Windows.interior panel, radio a/c and gauges not working ford f150 4x4.Already check fuses are ok and with volts. There is something else to check in between?..

Check if your ignition switch is working. Turning the key to on should send power to those fuses for the things not working. Use a test light to check if power is getting to those fuses, when key is turned to on. If no power, something is wrong with your ignition switch. Are you sure all fuses are good?

Why wont my 98 chevy tahoe start

Either it is not getting fuel into the cylinders OR the spark plugs are not firing. Could be defective ignition switch, blown fuse to the fuel pump, blown fuse to the ignition, bad connection somewhere, you failed to pay for your permit to drive from the Homeland Security Bureau

My Chevrolet Tahoe 1999 start then stops ! 2 my

A common issue with the later 90's chevy was an ignition tumbler going bad. So, where you put your key in to start the vehicle--this part needs replaced. One I seen actually stuck in the starting position and burned up the starter before power could be shut off to the vehicle. Lock/Unlock buttons on the door? Try disassembly of switch and cleaning the contacts with electronic parts cleaner, dry and re-assemble. Be sure to use cleaner that is safe for plastics.

98 intrigue keyless entry

Here's what i found.

1. Close all doors.

2. Insert key into the ignition cylinder but do not turn it.

3. Press and hold the Unlock button on door lock switch on drivers door.
Hold until instructed to release in step 6.

4. Remove key from ignition and then insert key into ignition without turning ignition cylinder and remove key.

5. Insert key in ignition a third time and leave key in ignition. Do Not turn ignition.

6. Release door lock switch on drivers door panel.
A Chime will sound 3 times indicating that you are in programming mode.

7. Press both the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote up to 30 seconds.
A chime will sound 2 times if remote has programmed successful.

8. Repeat step 7 if you are programming additional remotes.

9. Remove key from ignition to exit programming mode.

NOTE: If you are having trouble getting this procedure to work, we have found that some vehicles need step 3 to be done before step 2.

Did you make sure to pull the key out after the procedure? This closes the "programming mode".

Power locks are unlocking but not locking only the driver side locks and unlocks

the rubber pads on the door lock actuating lever are worn or the actuators are weak. They would need to be tested and looked at to determine this problem

Change starter on 2002 tahoe now motor wont start

If you had battery unhooked and assuming that it is turning over try this Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. This relearns your key to the ignition it started with Gm cars and trucks from 1999 to to 2006. It is a big problem but there is no recall that I know of. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys
