I lost power steering on a 2007 Equinox after changing the serpentine belt. Any suggestions?

Check serpentine routing. Probably wrong path. Disconnect battery for 10 minutes to reset computer. May need to clear codes using OBD code reader but check codes first. Stabilitrack ties into ABS and requires a code reader that reads ABS codes.

Are you sure you have the belt installed correctly? Not hard to make a mistake. Did you get any oil or fluid on the belt? Did you change belt tensioner at same time? Usually a good idea.

My audi a5 wont run it starts and cuts out since i fitted a new serpentine belt

How long does it run? Sure you only changed the serpentine belt? The car would actual even run without the serpentine (or also called accessory belt) since the belt only drives fairly non essential components (AC compressor, alternator, fan, power steering pump. etc).

Would a bad serpentine belt on my 2008 Mustang cause my heater to blow cold air sometimes

if the serpentine belt is original then have it changed as it is probably hard and not gripping properly
it is a reason that the ac compressor will not be at full efficiency , just like power steering not as good as it should be and alternator not charging properly
the inspection of the belt is in the grooved section and it shows minute cracks in the groove ribs then it is overdue for a change

Where is the ac belt in a 2001 gmc yukon

You got two belts on this vehicle the serpentine belt which runs the power steering, water pump, alternator. Behind the serpentine belt toward the bottom if the engine compartment theres a smaller belt that runs frm the crank to the ac compressor and the belt tensioner.

My 2005 chevy equinox AC gradually stopped working then aprox 2 weeks later my serpentine belt broke. would my broken AC have caused a good belt to break? Can I replace the belt without replacing the AC...

I'm not familiar with your car however, this sounds like a straight forward resolution. If the AC clutch or compressor has locked up or dragging badly, the extra load could damage the belt. If this is true and you don't want to repair....possibly there is way to use a shorter belt. Many cars are sold in the cold north country without AC units. Try for a belt for those versions and an idler to mount instead. Good luck, Paul

1996 Cherokee serpentine belt no moving.

Sounds like you have something locked up.

Take a picture/draw a diagram of serpetine belt routing.

Remove the belt, then try turning each individual item the belt powers to see which one is locked up.

I'd start with the AC Compressor first, then alternator, the belt tensioner, power steering pump, and whatever else is powered by the belt.

On a 2001 saab 93 turbo can can you bypass the ac compressor or is there a bypass pulley

You can bypass both the AC compressor and the middle serpentine idler pulley with a 6PK1790. The middle pulley is bypassed by running the belt straight line from the upper rear serpentine idler straight to the power steering pulley, then over the water pump (the smooth pulley powered by the back side of the belt) and down to the engine drive pulley (harmonic balancer), bypassing the AC compressor) This works fine. On 9.5 models, the same basic idea, but a slightly different sized belt.

Where is the ac compressor belt located?

The A/C compressor belt is integrated with the serpentine belt also. The serpentine belt runs the A/C compressor, water pump, power steering pump, and alternator. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I want to replace my AC compressor belt

Just like your main serpentine belt, there is a tensioner for the ac belt as well. It may be easier to do it from under the vehicle. The main serpentine belt needs to be removed so you can have access to take the ac serpentine belt off. our vehicle should also have a diagram under the hood as to how the serpentine belt system is run. If you replaced the main serpentine belt, the ac should be pretty straightforward as well.
