Why won't my car start

First it was clicking like a dead battery and it was at 9.5 volts then after trying to jump it the service anti theft warning came on I turned it off and tried to start it and it almost started but then all my lights just started flashing even after I turned it off

I have seen many related starting issues for this model, with few verified solutions.

i would try to walk thru these 3 steps

1, is to reset/re"learn" your key, after a dead battery issue http://pcmperformance.com/programming_files/GM_VATS_RELEARN_PROCEDURE.pdf

2. verify that you are NOT using a copied key to allow the car to "warm up" unattended, and then carrying the real key indoors and out of range.
the real, micro-chipped key must be detected, to prevent the anti theft lock-out.
most all similar starting issues i have seen were, coincidentally, on very cold mornings.

3. IF the above 2 do not help, again disconnect the battery, locate the fuse/relay block under the hood, unbolt, and make sure that all the wires underneath that connect to the fuse/relay sockets are not loose.
if so, push them all the way in/secure them, reattach the block, reconnect the battery, and, if necessary, relearn the key again

do not move on to #3 unless the first 2 procedures are less than successful.

2008 pontiac g6 stuck in anti theft mode & only can jump start with new key

You do not have a problem with the anti-theft system , if the vehicle starts when you get a jump, you have a battery or charging system problem. It is not stuck in anti theft mode ??? Your best bet lady , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Clicking under the hood, dashboard lights keep flashing. Wont start!

Hello Vickie,

It sounds like your battery is dead, or if you're really lucky, your battery cables are corroded.
Pop your hood and inspect your cables at the battery, especially the Positive (Red) lead. If you see white oxidation build up, then the cables need to be removed and cleaned.
If clean, then the battery may be dead. It can be beyond its service life (sometimes there is a date code on the battery so you can determine age).
If the vehicle can be jump started; after starting, turn on heater fan and headlamps to high. If the lights are dim, then the alternator may be bad or is going bad.
Start with the battery first, then go from there.

My car wont start even with a jump it click's a few time's while trying to start it then it does nothing it act's like the battery does when it's dead but i had it checked out and they say it's good what...

If you can borrow a draw test meter from a tool loaner Program, you can check the starter draw. A weak link is the starter Relay which can be jumped with battery cable jumpers.

By using the by-pass method, you are working around a potential problem with the anti-theft system. The anti-theft system reduces battery voltage to your starter to around 7 Volts so that the car can not be stolen.

If you find that the starter turns normally when bypassing the Relay, you may have either a bad starter Relay or the antitheft has activated. Take a Voltage reading on the main wire (between the Relay and starter) to see if it is at 12 Volts when cranking.. If voltage is at 12, then the starter is probably bad if it just clicks.

The battery warning and anti theft light comes on and the car goes dead.

Check your voltage before jumping to the conclusion of a bigger issue. Get yourself an inexpensive multimeter/voltage tester and set it to 12v d.c.
1. Check voltage of just battery. Should be around 12 to 12.5 volts if its ok
2. Turn the car on, check voltage again, it should be 13 or more volts

If #1 is not happening, charge the battery overnight.
If you have a good charge and #2 is 12v or below, your alternator is shot, or you could have a corroded ground, loose ground, or something is just not making a connection.

If your battery keeps going dead after this, something is making a connection when it shouldn't and you have a slow electrical leak. If that's the case, start reading about how to check for voltage leaks in a car.

92 olds 88 royale, 3800, wont start after hot, dead key no sound, sometimes starts with a jump, security light not blinking.

Lots of possibilities.
If the alternator was not putting out 14 volts or more when reved up, then the battery could be draining as you drive.
But then you would still get a click from the soleniod, and jumping would work.

My best guess would be dirty battery terminals, since they can rapidly change with chemical reactions. They should be taken off, brushed shiny and greased.

But starters can fail from heat.
Another possibility is a safety switch could be bad, like neutral safety or clutch safety switch. Try neutral instead of park.
And the anti-theft system is also possible.
