Although I am not familiar with your engine, I find using a pressure pump and gauge on the radiator filler neck allows for inspection of where a leak is coming from without running the engine and without having it hot. These test kits are often available as "loan a tool" sets from better parts stores. If you can't find any coolant leakage, do you see white smoke from the tail pipe (not just the usual moisture burn off from cold exhaust, but all the time). Could be a leaking head gasket.

How do i stop a leak from intake manifold gasket?

Please take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic. A leak in the intake manifold gasket can cause catastrophic results not only are you losing coolant to the outside but may also be leaking coolant internally which could contaminate the oil and cause the engine to fail due to loss in lubricating properties. Also, if not torqued properly you may have a warped intake manifold. Please see a good mechanic it may cost more but you risk a much larger cost to replace an engine

Losing antifreeze changed thermostat and resivoir cap

Check you oil for signs of coolant contamination. If coolant is present in the oil, you may have a leaking head gasket or intake manifold gasket. If there is no sign of coolant in the oil, the antifreeze could be leaking past the intake gaskets and into the combustion chamber. It could also be a leak that only shows up when the engine is running, and you are losing the coolant as you drive. This kind of leak is very difficult to locate. You will have to look for signs of antifreeze around the upper and lower intake gasket area with a strong flashlight. Also check for signs of leakage at the upper and lower radiator hose connections and the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator. If you smell antifreeze inside the car, check the carpet for dampness caused by a heater core leak. Sounds like a lot of work, but these mystery leaks as I like to call them, can take repeated inspections before you finally locate them. I hope I have been of some help. Good luck and let me know what you find.

Ok. guys. i am losing coolant. it is not showing up in the oil and i have no external leaks. i did replace the head gasket and all associated gaskets about two months ago. also have changed the upper and...

If the coolant is leaking at the head gasket or the intake manifold gasket slowly, then new gaskets will have to be installed. The bubbles coming up is a bad sign that the seal of the coolant system is bad or it's overheating the coolant to the point that it boils over.

The overheating may be due to air or vapor in the cooling system not allowing fluid to flow freely.

Did you put a 50/50 concentration of coolant to water into the cooling system?

Also, check the fan to see if it is turning on when the car is at operating temperature at idle.

May need to be flushed out and new coolant installed to increase cooling efficiency.

Good luck on this repair.

I have 2007 MALIBU SS I'm losing antifreeze somewhere could it be an intake casket

yes it could be if its a 3.1 or bigger. check to see if oil is getting in coolant tank, check very close at the intake gasket also the head gasket for leaks. and check bottom of water pump when running. if they fail it will drip from bottom at relief hole. my 3.1 had the sam problem and i replaced the intake gasket. and it has been fine now for about 2 years. just check it out.

My 1997 acura 3.5rl has been giving out white smoke from exhaust pipe for almost a yr now. when i first reported here someone suggested it could be due to a leaking gasket or broken head gasket or block....

it does sound like a head gasket allowing coolant into the cylinders and burning which creates the white smoke. a head gasket is a large job which requires you pull the cylinder head from the top of the engine. auto parts stores sell head gasket kits. you would also need the propper torque specs for the head as well as the sequence for tightening the head bolts.
before you go about replacing or having the head gasket replaced have you been losing coolant. is there any oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil your engine oil will look milky.

as i'm not familiar with an acura is the enginge a v-6 if it is it could also be the intake leaking as most v-6 engines cycle coolant through the intake manifold and can send coolant ito the cylinders if it is leaking.

Oil in over coolant tank

If there is oil inside the coolant liquid that is the head gasket.

Check first if oil can leak into the coolant tank from the cap.

Usually when you get oil into the coolant liquid you have an head gasket problem, do a compression test, or buy the home tester below.
