Warm greetings, we recently imported from UK a Renault Premium truck and upon delivery we realised it was driven without oil and the engine seized or the engine samp was accidentally pierced when the vessel was offloading and the truck was started without oil & it seized. we bought another engine from UK and after doing 200km the Low Oil Pressure light came up on the dashbord!!! we took the oil pump from the old engine and fitted it onto the replacement engine (used) and the problem never stopped, so we assumed the pressure sender switch was faulty and continued driving the truck for almost 9000km now and today heard the tuppets are now making noise. and all along the the oil level would be on minimum and now its going onto the red zone way below the minimum lines. im worried now, im not mechanical at all and they arent any Reanult dealers here and cant afford any downtime Please Help im desparate.....
Its one of two things:
The only way to be sure is to either just replace the switch (At cost) and see if that cures the warning/light or remove the oilpressure switch and screw in a mechanical oilpressure tester to confirm the oil pressure as being actually low or not.

HI IS THE HEATER INSIDE THE CAR WORKING AS GOOD AS IT NORMALY DOES.
IF THE HEATER IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT WAS OR IS COLD YOU MAY HAVE A START OF A HEAD GASKET GOING AS YOU WILL HAVE AN AIR LOCK IN THE WATER SYSTEM THATS WHY YOUR CAR IS RUNNING HOTTER I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL TO YOU CHEERS STEVE
SOURCE: espace wont satrt with starter motor but starts on a bump or easy start!
sounds like the dreaded renault immobiliser ,in which case its dealer only as software encrypted.whats happening is the immobiliser is stopping it from starting when key is in start position cranking but it will go with a bump as starter motor key position not activated .try a wire from battery to small connector on starter motor .if it starts which i think it will then you know what to do ...old fashioned way with a push button.but are you getting prepared to lay the golden egg ???just in case

remove the bulb then it cant bother you ,if it drives alright leave well alone or it will cost you a new ECU unit so just ignore it or a bit of black tape over bulb or remove the bulb
check transmission level with drive wheels chocked up ,handbrake on and engine running with reverse selected.and thats as much as you can do as this gearbox in common with all modern cars is all electric, and its a renault which means its encrypted software so no weekend mechanic tune up gizmo from the states will evan contemplate trying to read this properly ,just a load of mumbo jumbo .trust me its a renault , i know what these gizmo sellers promise about their wonder readers and such but on modern cars from 2007 they are useless as now all modern cars are encrypted and your famous renault started it.This is so that all work on a brand of cars can only be undertaken by the dealer and general garages can go and hang their overhauls up for good or turn their garages into car washes or a big mac outlet

Usually it requires only replacing the oil pump, unless the engine has sustained damage.
SOURCE: RENAULT LAGUNA 2.2DCI 2003 MODEL EXCESS CRANKCASE PRESSURE
This is quite a common problem, especially with the 2.2 dci engine, although as usual Renault wont admit the problem. The reason your engine throws the oil after a run and not when stationary is this problem is caused by the turbo pressurising the crankcase. You can rev the engine all day but when theres no load on it then the turbo is not working at full pressure and all is well.
The cure for the problem is to fit a new rocker cover which incorporates part of the inlet manifold. The breathing system on these engines is complicated and the rocker cover has to handle both inlet gases AND exhaust gases and although no one can explain why a new cover cures it,I suspect the plastic the cover is made of is not robust enough and either becomes porous or warped and this allows gases into the crankcase, pressurising it and focing oil out either through the dipstick or it blows out the blanking plug in the timing cover.
It is not a massive job to replace the rocker cover as long as the injectors come out easily. If they dont then youre in real trouble.Good luck,Duncan.
