NO ENGINE STATED, 2.5L 2.0, 1.6L 3.6L ????
on older cars , there is only 1, on the throttle body.(TB)
where is the throttle body?, it's at the end of the air cleaner main pipe
the fresh air pipe that provides all air to engine. aka: TV throttle valve.
or at the end of the throttle cable, at TB.

ON NEWER CARS, there are 4 TPS sensors. sorry !
2 under foot pedal.
2 at TB
all 4 must agree, or there is H3LL to pay. (limhome etc)

why not post engine,in car, type and size or suzuki name.?
why not post the DTC error codes, (all)?
the book covers this, the FSM
its only 4 bucks to look (usa spec cars)

SOURCE: tests for throttle position sensor

Hi
You can test the sensor with an ohm meter . Unplug the conecter from the sensor . There are three connecter pins . The top being one and the bottom three.

With the meter leads accross terminals 1 and 2 and the pedal at idle position the meter should read 20 ohms .
At wide open position it should read 6000 ohms .

Then put leads accross terminals 2 and 3 .
At idle position meter shouls read 0
at wide open should read 4600 ohm,

Whats the function of a throttle position sensor and how would i test for faults

Throttle position sensor
A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the throttle position of a car. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle/shaft so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle. More advanced forms of the sensor are also used, for example an extra closed throttle position sensor (CTPS) may be employed to indicate that the throttle is completely closed.

Code P1121 for TP sensor - where is it located on engine of 2002 4.0 ford ranger

P1121 - Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Inconsistent with MAF Sensor The PCM monitors a vehicle operation rationality check by comparing sensed throttle position to mass air flow readings. If during key ON engine running self-test the comparison of the TP sensor and MAF sensor readings are not consistent with calibrated load values, the test fails and a diagnostic trouble code is stored in continuous memory.
  • Air leak between MAF sensor and throttle body
  • TP sensor not seated properly
  • Damaged TP sensor
  • Damaged MAF sensor
Drive vehicle and exercise throttle and TP sensor in all gears. A TP PID (TP V PID) less than 4.82 % (0.24 volt) with a LOAD PID greater than 55% or a TP V PID greater than 49.05% (2.44 volts) with a LOAD PID less than 30% indicates a hard fault.

Po 122 problem light on had changed sensor problem not fixed trans not shifting right horrible jurks when it shifts.

P0122 is TPS signal low, which could mean you have a bad TPS, or a fault in the wiring or connector. I suspect a bad Throttle Position Sensor.

Cadliac deville 1995 need a throttle position sensor put in where is it located

Having Check Light On & getting a code, doesn't
mean your car needs anything

It means you use the code to direct you to a place
to start testing things.

Parts only get replaced, when they fail a test

You can throw some parts at it & get lucky a few times

What I don't like about that, is you learn nothing from doing
that.

The TPS Sensor (throttle position sensor) pretty much tells
you where it is. On the Throttle Body--- for the past 30 years,
not a well kept secret!

Throttle position sensor

You should test it before replacing, just to make sure there isn't another problem you are missing. The computer only knows something isn't right.
I would do the testing before removal, as the tps is integrated with the throttle actuation motor. Remove the connector from the sensor and use an ohmmeter to check the sensor. Inspect the connector and pins carefully for damage. Also inspect the wires carefully. If visual inspection looks good, move on to testing. The sensor circuit includes three pins in the connector--pins B, D, and H in the lower left of the diagram below. Remove the rubber air pipe from the throttle so you can open the throttle by hand. Then connect your ohmmeter to pins H and D. Then slowly open the throttle by hand. The resistance between the pins should change continuously and linearly as you open the throttle by hand. If that test is good, move the ohmmeter probes to pins B and D and run the same test. If the sensor fails these tests, replace the whole integrated throttle control assembly. If it passes, the problem is probably with the connector or wiring.

Code p0122 and p0123 after changing computer

Hi.

The problem is regarding TPS (throttle position sensor located in throttle body). Both codes are TPS voltage out of range (low and high) If you get both codes at once, then :

TPS may be defective,
wiring to TPS may be shorted to ground.
There may be a problem in the +5V circuit powering the TPS.
There may be a problem with ECU connector.

Parts:
1. Throttle Position Sensor - $ 55.44

Tools:
1. Scan Tool
2. Screwdriver
3. Multimeter

Procedure:
1. Locate the OBD data link connector (DLC). Refer to your owner’s manual for the specific location.
  • Tip: The OBD-I data link connector is usually located in the engine compartment near the battery or the fuse box. The OBD-II connector (post 1995 cars) is usually located beneath the instument panel next to the steering column.
2. Turn your key to the“ON” position. Do not start the engine.

3. Plug your scan tool into the OBD data link connector. Turn on the scan tool and select the appropriate steps to read the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Scanner plugged into OBD-II data link connector.
  • Tip: The OBD-II diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a 5 character alphanumeric code. The first digit is a letter that indicates the component group, the second digit is OBD mandated or manufacturer specfic, the third digit is a subgroup, and the fourth and fifth digits define the component and basic problem.
  • 4. Locate the throttle position sensor.
