Where can I look for the leak that floods the passenger side floor?

New rear window seal. We have applied waterproof tape to the entire roof area. We have used a water hose and applied everywhere. Every joint etcera. This only happens in the rain or an automated car wash.

Look for places where two or more body panels meet. They're most likely secured together with spot welds and filled with sealant at the factory. You may have to look in the channels that are under trim surrounding a window or other glass. I had have 2013 Altima that pooled water in the rear seat floor area nearly 2 inches deep due to a poor seal between two panels in the engine compartment (firewall) just below the front windshield. Water followed wiring channels and contours in the floor pan (without getting carpet wet) to the lowest point - the back seat floor. So - don't overlook *anything* Good luck!

Leaking water

Yeah ford would just replace it , You need a company that installs sun roofs they may well have just the seals for this sun roof , I would google sunroof installers in you area and see if there is one local who will fix this . I would say this is also not helping with you other problems .

Leaking water

Before spending $800 for a might fix it, I would either tape it shut or seal it shut with silicone sealent. Tape might damage the paint, so be aware of this. Personally I would seal it with silicone, it can always be removes although it is a pain in the rear end. After sealing wait for the next rain and look for leaks. You could pull the headliner out and then run a water hose over the roof and look for a leak as well. A body shop will probably be cheaper to repair it than the dealer. Dealers generally charge around $100/hr for labor. Body shops charge around $65.hr.

Can i sealing up my sun roof completely so it won't leak can i do that?

The sun roof will leak no matter what, that is why it has two drains, they are likely plugged up.

My 07 grand vitari is leaking water in passenger side from dash foot area please advise .thanks

Easy one this, Remove the footwell carpet (Just un-pin it from the poppers and roll it up best you can, hold with tape if needed, you just need to get it clear of the footwell) Then dry the area with a towel. Get some kids waterbased paint (orange is good, shows up better) and coat the entire area (Dont worry it comes off with a wet rag). Let it dry then get a hose and go crazy! hose off the outside area, underneath, anywhere the leak is lightely to originate. Any leak inside the vehicle can be traced via the darkened now wet orange paint! simples!

If its the passenger footwell its almost always from the windscreen seal, Older Vits had a big rubber plug in the floor pan, these sometimes came loose!

If you do narrow it down to the windscreen, a word of caution. Dont try to simply spread mastic over the original seal! the leak will be from underneath this so applying anything on top is just a waste of time! The Guys at autoglass ect replace windscreen seals for a hobby. Next time you see a van driving around have a word with the driver. Most wont refuse a cheeky twenty quid for five mins work! Thats how I got mine fixed!

Water leak rear floor driver's side as well as floor back of passenger. Drain lines from sun roof are clear. No rear end accidents. Any ideas? So far dealer cannot find a problem. 2007 Camry Hybrid

Roof drains may seem clear, but are the drain hoses, actually on the roof window frame.
Remove the head liner to be sure

Why can't the dealer use a dye type test or smoke tester. The smoke doesn't just have to be used for EVAP, that it was designed for. And you wonder why I do all my own work?

2002 Toyota RAV4 passenger side floor Water

Hi, we also have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 and developed a leak in the front driver's side of the car. After much research, we discovered that the drain wells from our sun/moon roof were clogged. If you have one of these, I suggest that you open the sun roof and look carefully. You will notice some tiny little holes in front and in the rear of the sun/moon roof tracks. Over time, these become clogged with dust and debris. You need to find a long, sturdy piece of thin wire and run it down the holes. To test if you have properly unclogged these, take a small amount of water and pour it down the holes. You should see water coming out of the drain wells under the car around the rear of the front tires. Hope this helps.

There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water...

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.

Rain water leak

The most common source of this kind of leak is the windshield, have a glass shop check the sealing around the glass
