Might be bad starter relay, or bad ignition switch. Check for voltage to starter when key in start position, or turn on headlamps and try to start. If lamps dim, bad battery connections, bad ground, bad replaced starer. If lamps do not dim, starter position on switch may be bad. You could try using jumper from battery to start post on solenoid to see if it cranks. If it does, you have either a bad ignition switch, start relay, or wiring problem.

Starter solenoid wiring diagram for 2001 ford f250 7.3 diesel?

all fuse good????
is the starter relay bad (oops none there)
does CEL lamp glow key on then goes out ?
it must or PCM is dead or fuse to it dead.
the car may have TCM (trannybrain) and it too must scan good.

OK , the key line wire is dead. (sure NO CRANKS)
is the battery good and lugs clean?
do the head lamps work key off and bright.??????
is rested battery at 12.6vdc? not 10. (called SOC)
does jumper cable jump starts work.? hummmmm?

the transmission if AUTOMATIC<must be in PARK or neutral. to crank. , must, if park fails we always try Neutral next (TRS/PRNDL)
scan the PCM yet?, see if there are transmission errors>?
the schematic is here.

the below is off the Diesel page for this truck.
wow DOUBLE BATTERY F250 !!!!!!
if one fails the bad battery can wreck the good one.
manual trans is clutch switch (no trans told)
auto (A/T) is TRS. (trans, range switch )
central JB fuse pins 4/19 fuse 20 , 15amps NOT BLOWN
hint the fuse is only hot cranked !!!!!!!
there is no relay on the diesel
key on cranked 12vdc feeds the fuse (11vdc low if cranking happens)
and the fuse feeds, below left
if TRS not bad, crank juice goes directly to the solenoid seen here.
middle wire is clutch sw.

57-undefined-undefined-0.jpg cropped to make it more clear.
manual trans only has a clutch pedal switch no TRS there.

Ford f250 dash lites up w/key on wont start dead

Squeal? Did you check your belt to make sure it didn't snap . If it did your alternator wasn't giving the battery charge. It is either that or a bearing is gone on the Idler pulley . Oils good, transmission fluids good , battery has a charge over 13 v engine coolant is good? If all that pans out and you changed the cylinode switch on the wheel fender passenger side then, I'd look on the wire that goes off of that. There is an in line fuse . If it. Blew your dead in the water.

My 2006 f250 crew cab lariat will not start. this has been happening over the past 9 years. ford doesnt know what is wrong. now my truck doesnt crank over. any ideas?

Does it have any dash light at all? if not then there is a fuseable link by the starter. or a starter relay solenoid. good hot battery.

97 f250 ford truck wont start unless you short across the solenoid

A test light is better for basic testing(puts a load on the circuit). You should be able to get a light on the small solenoid wire when the key is turned to "start".If the light comes on,and shorting across the large terminals cranks the starter, the solenoid is the problem.(pretty common cause).

Ford 2001 f250 v10, ran out of gas, filled tank and still won't start

check for fuel pressure at fuel rail if no pressure or low pressure check and change fuel filter while ya have it off or it could be relay switch that would be the least expensive place to start good luck

2000 F250 Diesel: light come on but it won't crank. Silence.

start by checking the starter relay.it should make a click when you turn the key.if not the relay may be bad. if it does click you may have to change the starter.the tarnsmission range sensor will also cause this problem.
