There are adjustments to be made on the outside linkage of your transmission. Take it to an honest transmission shop that won't tell you to replace the whole transmission.

2001 Honda Civic with error code P1298

is it a sick or auto? if its a auto you might just be out of fluid because of a leak or because the 1998-2002 accord automatic transmission is a failure and tend to wear out after only 90-100k miles. I got my '99's rebuilt a 98k, it was barely able to go. if its a manual, its more than likely just a simple clutch replacement.

My 1999 ford expidition sounds like its shifting in overdrive when i reach about 40 miles per hour, the engine gets loud sounds a jet taking off.

You have it backwards

What you hear is engine noise from
higher rpm, because your trans is not
upshifting, as a result of your input on
the gas pedal

You need to have a trans or repair shop find out why
you have a delayed or no shift condition

When you get to 4th or 5th gear (overdrive) you also
get torque converter lock-up & things should get quieter

Tranny wont shift out of 3 gear it drives fine just wont shift in to overdrive or when you punch it it wont shift down

Is your tow/haul button on? If not, it could be activated erroneously. It'll keep it from shifting into overdrive and locking the torque converter, and also keeps the transmission from shifting more often. If this isn't the issue, then you'll have to look into your computer, as the transmission shifting is controlled by the computer. The transmissions were the weak points on these trucks; only good for max 200000 miles, so if you're getting close, keep that in mind.
