I have a 1997 Mazda MPV, need to replace fuse for room light. Perhaps the light needs replacing. I am unable to remove plastic cover. The light is off in the back also. Frank

I need to know where the fuse is located, what number. I know where the fuse box is in the cabin.

There are actually 2 fuses for the room fuse. The room fuse #2 , is located in the joint fuse panel inside the vehicle on driver's side panel. If the tail lamps and instrument cluster lamps do not light up also, check the btn #4 fuse in the underhood fuse panel on passenger side fender. That large 60amp, yellow fuse, feeds the room fuse.

Just check every fuse with voltmeter, test lamp, or remove one at a time and inspect until you find blown fuse.

SOURCE: water pump replacement in a 2002 Mazda MPV

The reason is the water pump is driven off the timing belt, extra parts and allot more labor. No the eng does not have to be removed, labor time around 4 hours, parts about, about $125 US for parts, if it is a dealer add $75 US

How to replace positive battery cable on 2003 Mazda MPV?

A replacement will just bolt on. Follow the existing one back and you'll find a plastic cover that should remove. Under that you'll see the wire bolted down.

I have a 97 mazda mpv and need to find the pvc valve on the engine?

PVC Valves do not need to be replaced
Never have

99% of them, have been on the valve cover
for at least 40 years

Unless you have a pcv vacuum hose leak
they do nothing, as far a your engine goes

They are there to regulate crankcase fume
evacuation

Need to start studying & stop listening
to all the hype, including repair shops that
sell these things for no reason.

2004 mazda mpv. suddenly unable to shift from park into any gear. what happened?

Probable culprit would be the electric solenoid that releases the gear shift linkage when you apply the brake pedal. Since it's electric, a dead battery will cause the same result. Check to see if your brake lights are working. If not try replacing your brake light switch as this also gets power to the above mentioned solenoid.

This is a safety feature to prevent children from accidentally putting a car in gear.

Good luck!

Where can i find the spark plugs on a 2004 mazda mpv?

Changing the plugs on the 04 MPV is a pain.

The front three plugs are easy to get to - just remove the black plastic cover over the engin block(3 screws) and they're right there (but deeply recessed in the block).

But you have to remove the manifold to get to the back three plugs. and this kinda sucks. you will need a new manifold gasket set also....... I hope this helps

2003 MPV. Room Fuse would immediately blow when replaced - as a result, no audio, auto doors, interior lights, etc. It would blow without the key in the ignition so I knew it had to be something that operated without the electric being turned on. Started guessing by pulling the fuses for the auto doors then retrying the Room Fuse.. Room Fuse continued to blow. Then went through interior lighting - started taking out bulbs and disconnecting lighting connections trying to isolate the issue.. popped the visor mirrors out and noticed one of the connections had come loose.. reconnected, popped in another Room Fuse, and presto! Everything back to normal - lucky me.
