Check for fuse and relays and switch but it most probably will be the light control module.

Can't figure out the problem to my Buick Lucerne.

this a CANADA car with loves to fail DRL lamps (daylight running lamps)>>
`
hood open switch dead kills many things on some cars even starting engine dead.

my guess now is , DRL died as they love to do
and you need a new DRL module see its burned up pins?
it is more simple this year, and no DRL modules to burn up as seen 1996 on many here.
clean the sunset sensor lens of all dirt.??????
more

there is a DRL relay too
and these words.
DRL operation is determined by the ambient light sensor and the controlled by the body control module (BCM)
paste more me
BCM determines the conditions are met for DRL operation, it applies ground to the DRL relay control circuit energizing the DRL Relay. With the relay energized, battery voltage is applied through the switch side of the relay, the DRL fuse, and a resistor wire spliced to the low beam supply voltage circuit illuminating the headlamps at a reduced intensity. Any function or condition that turns on the headlamps will cancel DRL operation. When the BCM detects low light conditions, it will turn OFF the daytime running lamps and turn ON the low beam headlamps as described above in Low Beam Headlamp Operation. The BCM will also turn ON the low beam headlamps in daylight conditions when the windshield wipers are turned ON.
all this and more in the service manual
there is no dRM module actual
just BCM and 1 relay here it is, seen in real book on 2006

better photo
https://imgur.com/a/sO8Z9cQ

all fuse con are works
headlamps work key off and on.
park lamps work key off too. do they
the BCM is told to go to DRL mode with the sunset solar cell devices
that hardwire BCM
your shop is using? 1996 scan-tools are useless on his GM car.?
cant see DTC P1xxxx errors up or blind to B2575? errors
all B25xx errors the tool can not see GM real modern errors/
sad that if true.

drl-undefined-undefined-0.jpg one trick after all fuses checked
and battery main ,rested, is 12.6vdc fully charges
pull the battery neg lug for 30min. or 1hour and put it back all the brains reset and can now function ok.
the transmission may do to auto-learn model , no worry there.
clean the sunset sensor. lens.
and use only modern scan tools say 2005 up or newer.
for sure those marked GM ready !!!!!!!!

Drl module location for a 2013 Hyundai elantra

please don't use abbreviations like 'Drl'. Only you know what it means. 'Daytime Running Lights' is worth typing in full. It is part of the Body Control Module according to this

and one in cab.
the FSM covers this.

does car have DRL? lamps, like mandated in canada????
are both head lamps dead? there are 2 fuses.
so how would both blow left and right.
F1 is right
F2 is left head. fuse.
http://www.fixkick.com/sammi-stuff/schematics/pre1990-schematics-x3.pdf

here is more.
when you push head light FLASH lever do the high beams work>
must do so , with DLR or none
the above schmatic works for DLR and non DRL.
as you can see if the resistor burns up, (DRL) lows go dead in DRL mode only but work if you turn on HL to on.

tell more get more...
the drawing is free.

the fsm covers box location, look under dash yet.
seems not.

97 geo metro, low beams won't work, high beams work. dlr doesn't work either

DLR, you meant DRL? day light running lamps>?
are you in canada, if yes, that be good to say , yah?
and if so, the wiring is all unique there, as it is on all cars in all countries (laws )
to fix DRL in ANY car you need (unless luck and inspections fail)
is called a SCHEMATIC. with that and any $10 volt meter this job is easy.
so what do we know. we know the 2 fuses are not BLOWN.
we know that DRL runs low beams. and fails
we know that DRL does not run Highs ever. (top clue)
my guess is FLASH works too, and is clue 2.
clue 3, is the HL relay is good, or high beams would be dead except on FLASH.
the first thing to do with DLR failure. is to pull the module
and see the burnt pins, as all Geo/Suz. love to do.... weak parts.
now some DRL rules. the DRL has logic, and if the inputs to it
fail the DRL fails.
the hand brake most work, that is the switch and the brake lamp on the dash must go out, does it?
rule 2. the DRL lamp on the dash does it work>? normally?

the DRL runs lows.
and the DRL has 2 modes, for DRL
DRL , with the dimming resistor active (DRL mode is dim)
DRL , bypassed mode, driver selects Lows.
the DRL logic sees you do that and exits, DRL dim mode for full bright low beams.
that i show it all works.
see this drawing.
ask how to test it more.. its not hard, ask.

here it is.
sorry that fixya add image sux.. truely.

or measure the voltage on all pins (dlr module)
tell me?them.?
and I tell you whats wrong.but look for burned pins first ,hint hint

2002 Grand Prix heater/lights, My heater randomly works and if the heater doesn't work either does my head lights. I'm thinking it's my ignition switch?

If you mean that the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) does not work when the blower motor does not work, then YES it COULD be an ignition switch problem. However, not very likely (please read on). The regular HIGH and LOW beam headlamps do not require the ignition switch to operate.

The main circuit that runs your regular headlamps also runs the blower motor HIGH speed. This has nothing to do with the ignition switch.
This circuit also operates the Power Mirror circuits and the Hazzard Flashers. You may want to check to see if these are also malfunctioning when this happens.

The Circuits for your other blower speeds go through the ignition switch along with the DRL control module, but your HIGH speed does not. So if it is your ignition switch, your HIGH speed should still work and your regular headlamps should still work. You will lose only your lower blower speeds and DRL if it is an ignition switch problem. You will have a bunch of other stuff going out if it is an ignition switch also. The ignition switch circuit that runs your DRL module also runs your Powertrain Control Module. So if it is an ignition switch problem causing your DRL to shut down, your engine will also be shutting down.

1988 L200 head lights turn on and off while driving

There's headlight relays for both low and high beam (if I recall correctly) and a main relay (on the junction box near the battery). I'd guess initially that a relay is faulty.

If its the daytime running lights (DRLs) that are flashing the high beam on and off, they are controlled by a combined oscillator and relay box (looks like a large relay can). This box provides about 9v to the HB lights to provide the DRL function. You can disconnect the DRL box and see if the problem goes away.

HB and LB are separate from the DRL circuits. If the HB or LB are flashing (ie at night), I'd suspect the main relay.

99 gmc denali dash light, parking lights, tail lights, and dash light dont work. Interior lights, brake lights, blinkers, headlights work Turning on the headlight switch blows number 15 drl-fog fuse...

You have a short to ground somewhere in the drl-fog lamp circuit. Check for obvious wiring connector or wiring to drl & fog lamps. check wiring for pinched or broken wires coming from sockets. If you don't find problem, you can trace wiring from lamps to main harnesses and hopefully find source of short.
hope this helps.

How to you check the drl relay on a 1998 corolla?

The drl relay (in the small relay box passenger side) is actually the same size relay as (i think) the main fan relay (big fuse/relay box, driver side) they are the same color, swap them out and see what happens, however, if your daytime running lights arent working, this might be a light sensor, fuse or grounding problem.... Good luck, and Rate me!
