I have a 2000 Chrysler 300 M, I had a whining sound first off when I cranked up in the morning so I took to the shop and they said it was my racket pinon steering that needed replaced also my sway links needed replaced I did that and they called me to tell me car was ready, but my transmission was not coming out of second gear? I have never had a problem with my transmission at all! I drive 60 miles to work everyday. Get in my car and the auto stick light is on which it never has been and the transmission light is on which has never been on before, there has never been a problem with my transmission at all, any answers as to why in one day my transmission has problems now?

It sounds like your transmission is stuck in "limp in" mode. That is when there is a shifting problem detected in the diognosic modual, it switches to this mode to get you off the highway and to a service station.. Chrysler dealers have a OBDII tester that they connect to the plug under your steering column to capture the problem code, or even reset the transmission shift moddual.

Check the power steering fluid first and make sure it is at the proper level. Also, look under the car for any wire or other stuff that may have gotten caught in the wheel and steering mechanism.

Sounds like you have a transmission pump issue,you will need to take it to a tranny shop to diagnose if that is the problem if in drive it does not whine.

High-pitched whine upon cranking, suddenly sluggish, smells hot

It sounds like the water pump shaft bearing has frozen up. A hint here, always replace the idler pulley and water pump when you do the belt, they make kits for this and they have all the parts that wear out along with the belt. As long as the engine doesn't get to hot you should be ok.

My Chrysler 300 C is stalling and the engine light came on - Took my car to Autozone for a diagnostic check and the code was P0315. What does that code mean and how can I fix it.

most likely there is a problem with your crank sensor. I would inspect the crank sensor first. test the resistance on the sensor first. you could just replace the sensor or pay someone to replace it. see if the light stays off

is the front pump in the transmission.
