My 2002 Lexus IS300 dashboard and trim pieces have gotten sticky. If you touch them, black whatever the dash is made of comes off on your hand. You can't clean the dash; your wiping cloth fibers get left behind. This is a total mess. Does anyone know what you can do about this other than replacing the dash??
When a Plastic starts to get sticky and oily, it is at the total melting condition. The more you clean the more sticky it will be. STOP cleaning, the plastic will eventually wipe off leaving the base cover. You can only treat the plastic to stop the sticky and oily surface. This will prolong your dashboard life span. Is the car lowered? mine does that too but is has 1.4 inch lowering springs. i readjusted the hight of the lights manually and they work fine now.

the only way to get them out is to remove the unit from the car and disassemble it. if you replace the unit it will go to an exchange company and if you request it they will send your cd's back.

If you can hear it click like the other doors the it's the rod has come off the actuator or the plastic clip that holds it on is broken. If not most likely it's the actuator has gone bad. the actuator is the electronic part inside the door that actually unlocks the car.
