Check the connection to your coil pack for a corded or broken wire going into the connector. The coil pack is where the plug wires come from. Ford has a pigtail kit to replace it if it is bad. Or the coil pack is bad. Top, driver side of engine.

Only 1 in 10,000 PCMs is defective.

SOURCE: Missfire on number 3 coil on 2001 S type Jaguar 3.0 V6 Sport

Check the igniter module.
I assume you have a ecu code telling you #3 coil is missfiring ?
If so also check the crankshaft angle sensor .
If it is not an error code do a compression test and check the injector.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Missfire

just replaced plugs and COPS on 01 f-150 check engine light went out for a day. now it hesitates to start, has terrible miss at idle but runs fine. the codes say running to lean? btw, during plug replacement i removed an after market ford CNG assembly. did that assembly require different 02 sensors to compensate for the flash point differance between compressd natural gas and good ole gasoline.

Have you checked your cam or crank sensors? Could be one of them.

What is causing my 51reg 1.6 ford focus missfire on engine when engine is warm does not occure when engine is cold?

ISOLATE WHICH ONE IS MISFIRING, THEN CHANGE THE PLUGS ROUND TO SEE IF SAME ONE IS MISS FIRING, IF IT CHANGES TO OTHER ONE WHERE YOU PUT PLUG INTO THEN CHANGE THE PLUG, IT COULD BE A COIL PACK THOUGH. Sorry caps.

I have 2003 ford focus 2.0 SOHC SPI with a bad missfire

Yup, been there, done that. Found it was a bad injector. Replaced that one injector the test showed and runs great now. Check engine light should be on though because of this problem. The test will show you which cylinder is misfiring and that is the injector you change. My test showed #5 cylinder. The last # in the code read.

Missfire on cylinder n 2 p0302/po316

MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2 COULD BE LEAKING INTAKE AT CYLINDER 2 OR DIRTY CLOGGED FUEL INJECTOR AT 2 CYLINDER.REPLACE AIR FILTER IF IT LOOKS DIRTY AND CLOGGED UP AND CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL.IF FLUID LOOKS BURNT SMELLY CHANGE FLUID AND FILTER.

Missfire

You may need a new wiring harness. They have to be ordered from Germany. This is my guess. (I am having a similar issue with my '94; rough idle, #4 cylinder not firing intermittantly, replaced plugs and 8 ignition coils; new harness is my mechanics guess)

cheers and buena suerte

2003 ford focus

it sounds like a problem with the coil pack or plug leads its a very common problem with them . I would suggest you replace both coil pack and plug leads at same time.
