We bought a Hyundai tuscon 2006 from a Ford Dealer recently. an amber engine light keeps coming up the garage have taken it back and sorted but this has happened four times in the last 3 months. warranty is up soon and we are afraid to take it back in case it happens again. I know we have rights under the consumer credit act but is this the start of something bigger??? unsure.

Take your car to auto zone or any parts store that will run the check engine light test for free. See if they can pull a code telling you what is causing the light to come on.if there is no code no one can tell whats wrong until it reappers if this is helpful please leave good feed back

They are only held in by rubber grommets as you can see by the ones you removed.you will have to carefully pry them up with a screw driver or similar.

How to remove the back plug on 2006 hyundai tuscon 2.7

you have to remove the intake plenum to access the rear plugs on the engine. it sounds rough but it is not that hard .just be sure to disconnect the sensors before pulling up on the plenum so not to damage them.

I havea 2009 tuscon sx. the ESP OFF light comes on occassionally affecting the gearbox & not allowing the car to get out of gear. the ESP OFF button on the dash doesn't do anything. We have taken it...

Whenever that ESP/ESC warning light comes on, there is a diagnostic code set (DTC). This code tells the technician which component in the system CAUSED the ESP/ESC control module to turn ON the warning light!

Did the technicians SCAN for any DTC's? Since the vehicle is a 2009, the service department is supposed to have Hyundai's GDS (Global Diagnostic System) available to do this. If they don't have this equipment, find a service department that DOES!

Bought a 2010 Explorer. It has 25,000 miles on it. This a.m. the amber light that looks like an engine came on - what does this mean?

That is the "Check Engine" light, and it indicates that the car's computer has detected some sort of problem, probably in the emissions system. Make sure your gas cap is tight (yes, something that simple can cause the light to come on!), and take a look under the hood to see if you spot any loose vacuum hoses. If not, you'll need to take it to the dealer so they can use a diagnostic computer to diagnose and correct the problem. At 25,000 miles, it should be covered under warranty. Hopefully it will be something simple!

Does one have to change the timing belt of a Hyundai tuscon 2006 model. I

Scheduled Maintenance Services, for most Cars, has to be done at 30K, 60K, and 90K. Hyundai dealer recommend to replace the timing belt at 60K Service.
If you wait, one of two things could happen: Nothing, or the belt could break and you would be out thousands to repair the engine instead of a $400 hundred to replace just the belt. If it breaks, there will be damage done to the valves and various other internal components, which will not covered under warranty. The problem is that the Dealer would charge you between $700-$800 because they would also replace the water pump at the same time. Or you can buy the timing belt and change it by your self. To do so, you nee the Haynes Repair Manual specific for your car another equivalent.

2006 tucson cuts out while driving as if it is not getting enough fuel. No service lights come on, dealer cannot duplicate problem, but it repeatedly happens.

my tuscon (06) had the same problem. they replaced a part in the fuel line that determines the fuel/air ratio. can't remember what it is called though. maybe they can get it from this. i believe it was connected to the fuel line but not sure.

Warning light

Usualy the check engine light reports a malfuction in your engine performance system, it coulb be a misfire, bad sensors, vaccum leak, you need to have your engine code read from a garage or an auto parts store that offers the service for free.
