If the heater is only blowing out cold air, you may be low on water/antifreeze in your radiator.

Also, check the temperature selector may have disconnected or come loose.

Turn your air conditioner OFF and turn your heater ON. Air conditioners were designed to blow out one temperature of air... COLD.

SOURCE: heater only blows cold air but hoses are hot

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.
If persistent boil ups/over attention must made in the cylinder head
or gasket area, or possibly water pump?

SOURCE: air conditioning doesn't work. only blows out hot

Check and see if the clutch on the front of your compressor engages. If not it could have a leak and not have any freon in it. If it has freon then you have an electrical malfunction on the ac system.

Air conditioning system, when you turn on the air conditioner the drivers side blows cold air and the passengers side blows hot air? What causes this problem?

The most common cause of this is that you have a stuck air temperature control blend door, this can be a motor actuator issue or a jammed door or both (common). To replace both parts you will need to completely remove the dash from the car to access the blend door.

Air conditioning blows hot and cold air

You will need to know if the compressor is working when it blows hot air to proceed. It could be an electrical problem, a blend door problem, or the a/c clutch on the compressor.

I have a 1999 323i BMW. The AC doesnt blow cold (on cool days it blows cool temperature but not common A/C Cold Air, Hot Days it blows Warm/Hot Air). The heater blows warm air but definitely not common...

First things first.....You must have the air conditioning system hooked up to an a/c system machine and then checked for leaks and also read low and high side pressures. If there are leaks then low Freon (R134a) content and low refrigerant oil can cause the a/c system to not engage the a/c compressor which basically means you will not have proper defrost functionality nor regular air conditioning. Most shops, when working with your air conditioning, will install air conditioning dye to assist them in locating leaks and is the first step in diagnosing all a/c systems. The air conditioning system will only blow cold air. Regardless of the mode, I can only get cold air. Can you give me an idea on how to fix the problem? Thanks Don 615-653-3834 [email protected]

The air conditioning is supposed to blow only cold air. Are you trying to get the heater to blow hot air? Make sure the temperature selector is in the hot position.

Air conditioner starts out blowing cold air, apparently actuator sticks causing the system to blow very hot air. Hours later a/c blows very cold air again, only to blow wry hot air again after about 30...

1.)If your System is OVERCHARGED this Will Occure due to the EVAPERATOR FREEZING UP
2.) Also if your HVAC Control Modual is Malfunctioning this will Aslo Cause this Condition, It Controls the BLEND DOORS that OPEN for COLD or HOT AIR Look Into these Items and Also Look Into wethrt the A/C Compressor Cycles OFF when it GETS OFF this Will POINT at the HVAC CONTROLER if it Cycles Off When Set For A/C or COLD Air
