How do i fix a 2000 mitsubishi montero sport with a code of p0400.

The rheostat is the little dial on the dashboard that alters the brightness of the dash lights. It isn't under the hood. If your turn it all the way down until it clicks, it will turn off the lights. It will be in your manual.

Code 400 is for a problem with the EGR valve gas flow or the flow sensor.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero sport, the check engine light is on, it's at 112000 miles, flawless car as far as I know, ran a diagnostics and got code P0400, what do you think it could be? I don't feel anything except it shakes a tad during idle and idles anywhere from 500k to 800k rpm. If you have any idea please let me know.

I have montero sport 2000 also. If you call your local mitsubishi dealer and give them your vin number on your rig they will be able to give you codes to punch into probbably your stereo that will reset a factory alarm. good luck...

If the radio reset code was not written down in the owner's manual as it is supposed to be, the best thing is to have it reset to a new code, that they can tell you for free. It can be done by anyone selling that brand of radio, and is not Mitsubishi specific.

Pull out the radio far enough to see the serial number and model number. Take that and the registration to the dealer who will give you the code you need.
