Try to start car with a FULLY CHARGED battery. Have an assistant watch the engine turning over during cranking cycle. Smoke? Sparks? Possible failed starter motor, bad ground, burned wires, poor connection at battery. Raw gasoline smell is normal if fuel is getting to injectors, but not starting. If battery is over 3 years old, have it charged and tested,ASAP.

Sounds like you have a weak battery..try giving it a good charge and try again many times engines will not start with a battery that turns the engine over but not fast enough to start.. Good luck.

2008 sl awd Nissan Rogue, won't start Battery seems to have power making a clicking sound may be starter, having hard time finding starter location.

Know this problem was posted several years ago, but having same issue with my 2008 Nissan Rogue. We've tried everything short of having the battery replaced, (including charging it), and nada. So, tomorrow morning, that'll be our next move. Sucks, but best thing to die. Much rather than than an alternator, starter or solenoid.

Boys brought a1992 magna exeutive been going wellparked in drive way next morning wouldnt start all vitalswell (petrol oil battery ) when turn key occasionally it clicks or nothing

Starter sounds like a good place to start.
Make sure battery is in good condition and fully charged, as wellas the battery cables and wiring to the starter(no corrision,0r looseness).

Starter is labored, and cranks longer than normal to start. New plugs, etc. Mechanic said he checked charging system/ starter and starter is ok.

Sounds as if the battery is becoming a bit tired. While the charging system may be in good shape, the battery, and its ability to hold a charge, may be diminished.

I hope this may have assited,
Tom

Car won't start not the battery

Test the neutral safety switch but doing the following steps.

1)foot on brake
2)turn key to on position
3)shift lever to neutral (N)
4)start the engine
5)shift the lever to Park (P)

If the engine can start at N and not at park then it's the neutral safety switch.

Won't start lights dim and then brighten

Did you try to boost battery? Sounds like low charge. Check battery terminals for tight and clean as well as groung connection at body and power connection at starter for clean. If battery OK test for power on starter wires. Large wire will have contant battery power small wire will have battery power when key is in crank position. If power ok on both it will probably need a starter. Hope this helps...Good Luck.

Battery Problem maybe?

you haven't explained if engine is turning over when you say "wont start" if it wont turn over, could be starter motor sticking, when you say wiggle cable do you mean battery leads
if red , clean connection at starter motor/solenoid

My '04 Endeavor blew an ignition fuse and now won't crank!

If it blew a fuse you most likely have a short in the wire going to the starter or your starter is shorted internally. Hope this helps.
