SOURCE: quantity of engine oil used in 1 HD engine toyota land cruiser

if you have just bought the car change the oil and the filters asap on the grounds that the oil and filters may have not been changed for quite a while also change air and fuel filters also and grease any steering and tail shaft joints check brake fluid and water levels also and for any leaks around brakes gearbox and differential then every 5000km change oil and every 10000 change filters and spark plugs start with 4liters of oil let settle check level and keep topping up until close to full mark fill oil slightly under than over too much oil will build up pressure and burst oil seals in motor the more expensive the oil the better the quality its a bit like scotch whiskey best of luck glenn.......

SOURCE: Trying to remove and replace rear brake rotors

First, make sure your parking brake is off.
Remove the rear caliper and then the brake pad housing. In the center hub of the rotor the parking brake shoes are located. The may need to be loosen first. There is a hole between 2 of the studs you need to align at the bottom. Look in the hole with a flashlight and find the star wheel. Use a screw driver to turn the wheel up a few turns to loosen the parking brake shoes from the rotor hub.
After that there are 2 threaded holes in the rotor near the studs you put two 8mm bolts in and slowly tighten each and it will pull the rotor off the hub. They rust up pretty bad so use penetrating oil on them.

Patrol toyota hilux 2000 how to fix timming

if you can remove the timing cover and try to bring the engine using your hand with a tool by turning the crank shaft with the engine off and battery terminal off,to the timing marks. surely the camshaft and crank shaft sensors do have some marks. if it is diesel engine also the fuel pump has mark too. If you aligned the marks and are in a correct place then you problem is something else,If the marks are not aligned then you timing is wrong and try once more to fit it whilst in a correct place.

Im looking for the timing marks on a 1988 land cruiser?

what timing? firing or cam and crank?
The crankshaft should have a notch on it's inboard flange to line up with a graduated plate on the engine
The crankshaft pulley on which the timing belt sits has a "button"
When fitting a new timing belt the timing belt should have lines telling you where it lines up with the "button" and then camshaft position where you should see notches in the camshaft pulleys or back plate.
If the cam cover is of the camshafts have dots on their gears.
If you have not got a manual then I'd advise getting one or downloading a pdf version. If you know what your doing but just don't have a manual then put some paint pen marks on everything before you start.

I Have toyota land cruiser modle 1994 Engine is not started in the moring.

sounds like the fuel pump or regulator issue. fuel is draining back to the tank. try turning the ignition on and off 3 times without cranking the engine, then try to start it. If that works, replace the pump assembly, filter and regulator. airtex or delphi makes a great replacement alternative to an actual toyota part, and is much less money. Happy Motoring.

My 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser ALSO idles rough in cold damp weather.

If this only happens when it's damp out, chances are your spark plug wires are arcing. When was the last time they were replaced? If they're factory wires, they'll be marked with the year they were made on the wires. Usually these won't last more than 10 years or 100,000 miles.

If they're in question, change the plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor.

I am trying to find out if my 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser ignition timing is correct. My problem is that I can find no timing mark on the flywheel! Please, what am I missing? Rick

the timing marks are on the cam gears in which the timing belt rides on. Quick check is to get number one cylinder to top dead center then remove the distributor
