I would doubt that it could "shut down" your transmission, but ABS sensors can affect the way the system controls the transmission.

Can you be more specific about your symptoms.
Have you had your diagnostic codes scanned?
There may be some other sensors/control modules that are failing.

Shifts fine till abs and break lite comes on

The Lights come on because of the bad shifting. Newer cars are set up this way. Any transmission problem will shut down abs and traction control. Have the codes read for both the transmission and ABS system.

Is it possiable for abs senser to shut down transmission on 1997mustang?

ABS is a different systems & module, than the transmission
controls

So not really-- but you may have an issue with the abs, if you
have fault codes in the system & some driveability sympthoms
that seem like there is a trans & other problems

96 Dodge Grand Caravan Is there a speed senser that effects the rear wheels as well ad the front?

Are you asking about the ABS system? There is an ABS sensor for each wheel area. Typically, it will read a gear on the axle. If you're talking about the speedometer's speed sensor, that is on the transmission.

How many sensors does my 2006 solara have

Dependa on the defination of the word senser. The main sensers that tell the computer what's going on and then thiers another set of sensers that tell the driver what's going on the ten are you just talking about the engine or the transmission or the brakeing system or the aircomditioning system. The ABS braking system has a fluild level senser, a wheel speed senser ( one at each wheel) if your solara has four wheel drive it's got a rear differantial speed senser and a transmission out[ut speed senser. then the sysyem uses sensers in other systems like the bdy control sysyem to get anbieant temperture and alaitude information and the stabitly system has a GPS conection and real speed and direction and conpass readings all used to just get the ABS system working and the traction control system That shares these sensers also has inputs from the engine conrol system as to trottle position and air flow and RPM and may require the engine control system to stall or satutrer the engine or even limit RPM to regain traction or get the vehical headed in the right direction. The air conditioning system depending on the yype of system installed and what factory it was made in and what country it was made for sale in can change the number of sensers that's in it quite highly. Some of the zone indepentant controlled fully automatic systems ( top of the line) can have as many as 5 temperture sensers alone never mind 1 or on some models two sunlight sensers. The freaon pressure sensers as many as four and no less then two. An RPM senser on the compressor clutch and information from the engine system as to throttle position( it turns the compressor off in wide open) and high RPM ( it turns the compressor off to prevent over speeding the compressor and to give the car all the power it can to go fast.) the evaporator temperture as to not allow it to freeze. amoisture senser as to direct dry air onto the windshield to clear it as a safty concern. I've not even begun to tell above the engine or the transmission or the theif recovery systems or the antitheif systems.

The speedometer in my 2005 mustang stop working what could be wrong... peter

Most of the time when the speedometer stopps the odometer stopps too it it has the transmission may have troble ( if it's automatic as the speedsenser helps the trans shift as the computer shifts the trans too. the check engine light should be on also if it's not and the odometer is still working the problem is in the speedometer itself and the unit can be shipped off though your ford dealer for repair but I woould'nt do that till the speedometer has been removed unplugged and replugged in to see if it's just a bad connection. The speed senser can fail too but you will have these other problems tha I mentioned. The senser is on the side of the transmission nesr the place the drive shaft is connected to the transmission. If the automatic transmission shifts normally and the check engine lightisn't on the senser is likly to be good.

The speedometer stoped working on my 05 mustang, but all other gages work, can u help me?

Scann for codes ( wanna make sure its not speed sensers etc..)
Check cable for binding and wear at both ens of it.
If cable is ok then go for gauge(good idea to send this job to a shop), gotta do a lot of dashboard work and must disconnect SRS System (air bay) before you can test anything. Lastly if cable gauge , are a ok the speedo gear which is on the output shaft of the transmission is defective. If this is what it turns out to be take this to a transmission repair shop.
