It sounds as if the door switch that toggles on and off for open door or closed door is defective or it is a problem with the timer associated with same.

The door light switches are located near the door hinges (door jam).

Check that the wiring for the door hinge switches are not damaged. I believe your dome lights are the lens push in type. Check for defective dome switches, there are also lock cylinder disarm switches on both front doors I believe the drivers side is the one wired with the dome light circuit. I included an image and a web site that may help you.

My dome lights stay on for about 15 to 20 minutes and my radio shuts off now when i turn the car off, it normally stays on when car is turned off until you open a door.

This is normal...........The dome light will give you time to collect your belongings and the radio or music of your choice will stay playing for about 15 min unless the door opens..............It is just the way cadi rolls........Hope this helps.

Dome light won't work exept by the override switch-sometimes

I seem to be having the exact opposite problem. I have a 99 chevy blazer and the dome light will not turn off unless I push the override button in. The radio does turn off as soon as I turn off the ignition key. If I leave the dome override button out, the dome light will constantly stay on even while I am driving. It used to work fine. Every now and them it starts working properly, but it hasn't worked right for a long time now. I tested all the switches and they all seem ok. They rear hatch is also closed. Does anyone know what the problem can be and how to fix it?

It very well could be the BCM....only way to check it is to have a full featured scan tool, and check out the systems.

When I shut off the ignition the radio and dome light stayed on

I have the same truck. The thing is designed so that the radio and dome light and even the windows will operate for a time which should expire immediately when you open the door. Try turning on the radio with engine running and then turn off the engine and just sit there and the radio should still play. Try the power windows - they too should go up and down. Finally open the drivers door and that should immediately kill the radio, windows and dome light. If it does not - you will need to report that problem to your dealer since the problem is in that timer feature which is part of the vehicles "brain". Sorry I can't be more helpful.
