SOURCE: trying to locate spare tire and tire jack.

You can locate your spare tire under and between the rear tires.
Your jack is located in a compartment in a left rear compartment near the door. You'll see it when you open the rear gate. Check the left panel and lift the lever.

Where is the rod kept that when turned lower your spare tire

Fold back seat down where your scissor jack is located, use the same handle for the jack to lower the spare tire. The portal hole for that is just under back bumper or near license plate.

How to take a spare tire off gmc envoy 2004

Since the spare is mounted under the rear of the car, Its not easy...you have to assemble the long crank rod out of its two pieces, then feed the rod through the hole in the top of the rear bumper and lock it into the mechanism that holds the tire in place. Once the crank rod is locked in, lower the tire towards the ground. Once the tire is low enough, you can crawl under the car and release the tire from its mount. The hardest part is locking the crank rod into the spare tire mechanism through the hole in the bumper.

How to get down the spare tire underneath the 92 ford explorer xlt

Using the jack handle from the engine compartment. There will be a spot for it to fit into and then crank the spare down. To store the spare again, crank in the opposite direction. There is a cable that is wound on a spindle by the jack handle. This lowers and raises the spare.

Good luck, Jim

Where do i find the location of the spare tire jack for my 2001 Suburban?

in my burb, the jack and all the components are in a compartment located between the 3rd row seat cupholder and the mesh/container compartment. it's kind of deep and it has a small indednt for a handle, lift that and it should pop right out, then you can undo the nut to release the jack and wheel chokes. then follow konkomados's steps to lower your spare at the back

How do i get my spare tire down? special tool? where?

Hello! Here is procedure to remove spare tire...Guru...saailer

  1. Park on a level surface and put on the emergency brake. If the car is near the side of a road, switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Locate the tire repair kit. It consists of a jack, a jack rod and a wheel nut wrench. In the regular cab, pull the entire seat bench forward. The tools are located behind the drivers seat. The King cab model has a tool case located directly behind the driver's seat. The Crew cab stows the tools behind the back bench. Pull the bench forward and remove the tools.
  3. Insert the square end of the jack rod into the square hole in the nut wrench. This gives the jack rod a handle.
  4. Find an oval shaped hole in the back of the truck under the middle of the tailgate. Look through the hole and find the winch for the spare tire. It is a circle with two notches.
  5. Insert the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the hole. Slip the T-shape into the double notched circle of the winch.
  6. Turn the jack rod counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground.
  7. When the tire is completely lowered to the ground, remove the center retainer chain and pull the tire out from under the truck.
  8. Wind the jack rod clockwise to completely retract the retainer chain

Where do I store the spare tire on a 1998 Ford Explorer? In the cargo area or does it go underneath? Thanks.

The spare tire is stored under the vehicle. There's a hole just above the license plate you insert the extended end of the jack handle into to lower and raise the spare tire. The jack and handle are stowed in the drivers side rear (just inside the rear hatch).
You can go to this FREE Ford website to view or download the users manual for this vehicle for a diagram if needed.

Do the new Sierra 1500 trucks 2007-2010 have a full size spare tire?

Yes. The spare tire is located under the bed in the rear of the vehicle. You have to use the handle of the jack to lower it down. There is a place in the bumper next to the License plate that you stick the jack handle in to lower the tire down.

Flat tire

Ford's spares are held in place with a cable that's loosened by inserting the jack handle into the cable crank. it's located below the door sill of the rear door. Look for a hole that the jack handle can be inserted and turn counterclockwise. The tire should lower down for you.

1996 Corvette

normally a spare will not fit in the storage area of the corvette. most came with run-flat tires. it is also possible that the car came with a small compressor and some sort or liquid stop leak (ie tireslime) My best advice is to contact a local corvette club or dealer. they can tell you exactly what your vehicle is equipped with.
