Sounds like an alternator issue. Could be corroded wires at the battery also. When the voltage gets low, things like these will shut down first. Having the flasher on for five minutes won't drain the battery. Jumping the battery put it above the shut down threshold. Have the charging system checked, before replacing the multifunction switch.

The headlamp switch will cause the lamps to turn off. The switch heats up and turns the headlamps off. It will cool down and work for about 10 minutes and cut out,

I think you need to replace the Body Control Module (BCM), My newly replaced BCM (used) fixed my wiper problem but created a new problem which the left turn signal is not working now. Time to sell the van.

SOURCE: turn signals were working...but blinking fast. now

you have a separate flasher for the turn signals.this is what your problem sounds like.if all your lights are working including the signal indicator on the dash then it will be the signal flasher.if you turn on the hazard flashers and locate it under the dash, this will show you what the turn signal flasher will look like.then you will have to look for the flasher unit on the fuse panel that looks like the hazard flasher.replace the turn signal flasher and you will have your signal flashers again

1997 chrysler sebring emergency flashers work but turn signals do not

It is caused by either a bad multifunction (turn signal) switch or a bad combination flasher. With this particular vehicle, the flasher is an integral part of the multifunction switch. So, it can only be repaired by replacing the multifunction switch for either case.

My windshield wipers will not turn off and I have no turn signals.

I think your combination switch is malfunctioning. The switches that control both the wipers and the
turn signals are built into the combination switch. And the headlight controls too on some cars.

Your car may have a switch that controls the wipers and the turn signals, but not the headlights.

But whether you have the type that controls wipers/turn signals/headlights or just turn signals/wipers Im not sure, you didnt mention the specific year and model. But you should replace the switch that controls your wipers/signals. They are expensive sometimes, especially if you have the combo switch that controls wipers, headlights and turn signals. But you can find one at a slavage yard for a lot less money than new.

But you should put the year/model of your car when you post a problem youre having. That makes it more likely that someone can help.

Turn signals quit working??

Good place to start is to check bulbs. Also, have multifunction switch and its circuits tested. The multifunction switch is the blinker arm, and the components it attaches to inside the steering column. Usually tied in with things like high beams, headlight dimmer/daytime running lights, wipers, cruise, etc.

Turn signals work intermittantly on 2005 Dodge GC SXT

It sounds like your multifunction switch is faulty and will need to be replaced. The multifunction switch is a combination of your signal and wiper/washer switches all in one unit and is not servicable and is replaced as a whole unit .
