2002 dodge intrepid the heat blows but doesn't get hot! Had the thermostat replaced but still no heat. What would be the problem?

Either a heat switch is not switching heat to the compartment or else the thermostat in the cooling system is defective. when it is not open it does not let hot water to the internal heating system, has your engine been overheating or running hot? also as this would be a symtom.

I would try replacing the engine thermostat it’s the cheapest place to start if that doesn’t get you any heat it’s possible that your heater core could be plugged

Heater blows cold air 2002 dodge intrepid
I had his problem a few days ago, it happened because my thermostat housing was leaking coolant. I changed it out and refilled the coolant. Heats like a champ now and it only cost me 50 bucks and an hour of my time. I would suggest first of all checking your coolant level.

My heat in my 99 dodge intrepid is blowing cold air. I got a radiator flush and the heating core is working. What is wrong with my heat.
could be the thermostat has gone bad. this would over-cool the engine and keep the coolant from getting hot enuf to warm the heater core.

My 2003 Dodge Intrepid seems to want to overheat when it is very hot outside and i turn on a/c. I replaced the thermostat, new radiator fluid and sensor but still tends to overheat. The car sometimes does...
The problems are totally unrelated...Replace the radiator ($140-200) is the ONLY fix for the heating issues. Don't forget to add water pump lubricant from NAPA, called #13.

Radiator fan not turning on 02 intrepid
maybe the sensor that turns on the fans might of gone bad . . and turning on the ac when engine is gettin hot is not going to help instead turn on the heater to reduce the heat , also overheating causes hoses and gaskets to get soft and get destroyed

Radiators do not "go out". They leak or they don't... that's it. You wasted money changing a radiator if you aren't loosing coolant. The thermostat (~$10) is all you needed to change.
