Ok thanks for answering. ..but I reset the check engine like 5 times in the last month and I still have this code p0712 plus this warning in the message center (trans hot idle engine) but suppously the light that I have to reset it's this one...the one that its on message center the light flash when i'm driving and said (trans hot idle engine) but I know the transmission it's not hot because in the morning when I just started the truck said it's hot and I haven't run the truck....

042 is brake position sensor code. That sensor is used primarily to cancel the cruise control but may also be used for abs, if your car is equipped. Can you get an odb scan to see why the check engine light is on? The engine light does not indicate oil changes, so something else is wrong. We need that code, which starts with P and has four digits after the P.

Do you have any check engine lights on? Most diesels have a safety feature that shuts down the engine and puts it in "limp mode" when there is a problem somewhere . It will stay in limp mode till repaired and the code cleared. You should get a code with a diagnostic.

get the OBD codes read again and then have them cleared as are still in the memory , this should cure the issue , your friend was right

indicates battery failure or charging circuit failure
get it back to a service dealer for a warranty fix if it is only 1 month old

Oil Change light:

To reset the "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal three times within 5 seconds. The light will flash twice and go out.

Maintenance warning light? MIL? Check engine? Maintenance Required?

You will have to go to Auto Zone to have the code read and then fix the code problem and then clear code with code reader

You will need a scanner or a code reader to tell you what codes your computer stored that caused the light to come on. If you have an Autozone or Advanced Auto in your area they typically will scan these codes for you at no charge. Once you know the codes you can add them to your post and see if we can help you more.

You can disconnect your battery for 15 minutes or pull the fuse for an ECM or PCM fuse, but the best way is to visit any local repair shop. Most shops will have a universal Check Engine Light Code Reader that can quickly and safely reset check engine light trouble codes. It should take about 30 seconds.

Ask your local service center if they could reset the check engine light with a Check Engine Light Code Reader.

Have you check the O2 sensors? How baout cleaning the MAF and Throttle body? Thermostat?

How does the temp gauge look whn it stalls?

i recommend that you check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the instructions in the owners manual

Hello There.

These come on as a precousionary measures, even if there is a slight misfire in the engine it generates a code which can be read and inform you why it is there, most of the time these are minor things and light can be reset. The only time you need to get seriously worried is when the letters 'eml' light up with the engine light, then you have a serious problem.
