Having an intermittent problem with my SLIP light coming on when driving. Can sometimes get it to clear by shutting off the engine. Also, the light will stay on even when the truck is not driving or when the ignition is switched to the ON position. Driving a 2004 Titan. Suspect a faulty ABS control module.

Also, the SLIP light stays on when just switching the ignition to the ON position and the truck isnt running or driving. The ABS light is not on or is the check engine light. This is why i suspect the control module.

There was never any recall because the problems very widely from vehicle to vehicle but all electrical and intermittent. I replaced about $1200 worth of parts before I finally brought it in. My mechanic would fix the curent problem and I would get halfway round the block then the car would shut down again. After threatening the owherof the manufacturers of the computers they finally covered all labour and other costs.

Check to make sure the ground lead-off wire to the fenderwell has not come loose or corroded. Also make sure you have a good engine to fierwall ground, this is the flat braided uncoated piece of connector running from the firewall usually to an intake manifold bolt. Thanks, Dana.

Electrical problems

sounds like the brake light switch is the culprit for both the intermittent brake lights and cruise control problems. the engine warning light could be an unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed.

Transmission intermittently goes into the limp mode

You need a code reader. It does sound more like an electrical prob than a trans failure you could rebuild the whole trans and it just does it again. Invest in the full shop manual including the electrical one. I would get on the BMW fanatic forumns,
