This could be due to many factors. The first thing that I would like to ask you is how many miles are on the truck? How often do you do maintenance? Oil change? Transmission fluid and filter change? Air filter change? Please answer these and I will be able to help you further thank you.

SOURCE: 1993 Gmc Seirra Power Steering

You will have to remove the serpintine belt off take off the Hoses from the steering box be carefull not to strip them out, use some WD-40 or something the make it easier if they wont come off take your time and work them back and forth, If your just doing the pump then take the hoses off the pump not the steering box, take the retaining bold out of the steering pump and it should come right off.

SOURCE: My 1993 GMC Seirra SLE loses power when going from sea level to 3,000 ft and then starts ticking

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS COMPLETED.

I'm having the same problem at the shop I work for. So far I've changed the computer chip in it, throttle position sensor, and it seems to be doing better. Haven't found the real exact problem yet so if it fixes it let me know please. Chip is about $80 from Autozone and tps about $40 or $50.

How many o2 sensors do I have on a 1993 gmc seirra

I believe the 93 Sierra has only one O2 sensor. It is in the manifold on the drivers side. This assumes the 5.7L motor.

I have a gmc seirra k1500 5.7L V8 and the engion is knocking and is really loud it started of with a ticking noise is this due to a bad plug?

Yes this is definitely due to timing or plugs. First check the timing belt. It could be loose and needs to be tightened. If timing belt is OK remove each plug & check that the gaps of all the plugs are the same & that there are no oil deposit at the ends. If the plugs spark points are worn out, replace the plugs.

I have a 1993 gmc seirra and when I turn one of my turning signals on they'll stay on for a second then go off, sometimes I can't even get them to turn on, could it be the turning signal relay?

Chances are that the signal relay has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can go to Auto Zone and pick up a new turn signal relay and they can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. Good luck and keep me posted if you have any other questions.
