If you're talking about the car moving forward a bit when you start it. This is normal. Just the transmission receiving fluid pressure from the pump.

SOURCE: 95 honda accord V6 tachometer jumping and cutting out.

I had the same problem with my 1995 Honda Accord V6 2.7L a year ago. It was a pain to have Honda diagnose the problem because it was intermittent and every time I took my car in to the dealership they said they couldn't reproduce the problem, but the longer you wait the more frequently your tachometer will fluctuate. I finally stopped by the dealership when the tachometer was jumping and they were able to diagnose the problem. In my case there was a faulty resistor in the ignition coil, but the entire ignition coil needs to be replaced. I don't know anything about cars but I know this fixed my problem. I went directly though Honda's service center so I know they charged me more than an independent repair shop but I'm looking at my invoice now and I paid $150 for the ignition coil and $200 for labor. After Honda diagnosed the problem I searched for "1995 honda accord ignition coil tachometer" and found that other people had the same problem and replacing the ignition coil was the fix. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: honda accord 1996 v6 2.7 liter, rpm gage jump up and down

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

SOURCE: My 2001 Honda Accord will not start, do I need a new starter?

if you turn the key and engine fails to budge ,are you getting a clicking sound as if their is life from your startermotor ,if so maybe your solenoid is sticking which is part of your starter. give it a tap with a hammer .if it doesnt cure the problem than your starter is faulty. or even select nuetral on your transmission and try then.

SOURCE: 1995 honda accord v6 tack jumps sometimes, but sometimes fine.

It is what you call hunting. Carb or throttle body injection?. more than likely TBI. Could be the throttle position sensor,The mass air flow sensor, fuel pressure regulator. have the fuel pressure ck'd first.. then the throttle position sensor. then the maf sensor. Have the maf sensor cleaned, They are very expensive. Make sure the air cleaner is clean, clean. it and the maf work together. - good luck, Ned

Can't locate grounding wire on 1997 Honda Accord to jump start

explain

are you jump starting the starter or the battery?
or the ignition switch.? jumped?
or are you using jumper cables and read the users guide (great idea !)
and it said, as many do (bad) connect ground wire to bumper.
and yours is plastic.
if yes. then connect it to any large, metal object on the engine.
that is not near the fan.
each car is unique, most engines have huge steel brackets on engine. that work as a ground.

that manual is correct ,because this prevents making a spark
as the 4 end of cable is attached. (no battery explosions)

and most cars, even honda have different engine options.
make these parts unique. so.
if you had sent a photo of engine we can put an arrow to ground and post it back.

91 honda accord between 50 and 55 it feels like the transmission shifts up and down conststantly but the rpm only moves from 2100 rpm to 2000 rpm but over or under that speed it runs fine.

Your transmission is probably jumping in and out of "torque converter lockup". The lockup is the most efficient mode because 100% of the power from the engine goes to the wheels and is not lost in the torque converter. It only goes into lockup at higher speeds, but will jump out if the computer senses it needs more power (at the higher engine RPMs) to maintain or increase your speed. I recommend either going faster or slower if this is bothering you. :-)

2001 accord turns over but will not start

There could be a number of reasons the car isn't starting. Is your check engine light on? If it is, the problem is likely a bad sensor or electronical problem. If the check enginie light is not on, it may be a vacuum line, plugged fuel filter, worn fuel pump, or other non electrical related problem.

2005 honda accord could not start

My daughter's Camry did the same thing. Odds are the battery is shot. Pull it out and take it by a parts store to get it tested. Her's showed a bad cell and once a new one was put in, the problem went away.
