The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. Did you use the correct ignition switch lock cylinder for the key code you have? If not the security system is activated. You must measure the resistance of the wire in the shaft of the old key and then order it based on that which translates into a code number.

what hve you checked a fuse or relay my have blown what happens when you turn the key does any lights come on in the dash check wires to ignition for bad connection or broken wires and make sure you have the right part

i would recommend to apowder graphite for the ignition switch instead of wd-40 to help keep the dirt from sticking as bad if that doesn't work you may want to invest in getting a new switch...hope this help you out please leave a review thanks sincerely D.Jones

Well first you should put the key in the ignition and try turning the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Next try moving the gear shifter back and forth while turning the ignition. sometimes they will inhibit the ignition from unlocking.
