SOURCE: How to replace headlights on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

If my top radiator hose gets hot and not my bottom one is that a sign of a bad thermostat

Apollo's answer likely correct but can also be caused by an internally delaminated hose or severely blocked radiator.

I'm trying to locate the thermostat on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee

  1. On 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8
  2. Remove lower radiator hose clamp and lower radiator hose at thermostat housing.
  3. Remove thermostat housing mounting bolts, thermostat housing and thermostat.

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l v6
Note:on the In-line 6 4.0L model the thermostat housing is mounted at the top of the engine block next to the water pump.

REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE...Now blower is working but not very much air flowing out of vents! Fan speed is working...it heat and cools. but still not adequate air flow from the vents ..2000...

check your blower hoses to see if one or more have come loose or got redirected or the selector switch isn't functioning properly (is it blowing better on defrost as opposed to floor vents, or forward vents, etc.)
Good luck

Jeep Cherokee CRD 2.8 lack of power

I would first check that there is not a split in one of the turbo hoses or one of the hose clips has come loose, as you description sounds like a loss of turbo boost. Does it blow a lot of black smoke?

I can't give my jeep much gas or it will backfire and die. i have changed the tps and the mass air flow sensor and the fuel pump, 2000 grand cherokee.

Have your fuel pressure checked. It may be a bad regulator.

Try cleaning the throttlebody and air filter.

Check your spark plugs, coil and wires.

Check and make sure all of your injectors are clean.

Also you may want to check your o2 sensors. You can unplug them and drive a bit. If the problem goes away then they need replaced.

follow top radiator hose from radiator to engine wear hose ends, it will be clamped to whats called the gooseneck, thermostat is under that. you will have to drain coolant, not all, maybe 1 half gal. before you remove it. 2 bolts new gasget new thermostat, just remember spring on new thermostat goes in engine.
