Vibration happens during braking and engine vibrates when shutting off car

Check the U Joints. My wifes xterra had 80K miles on it, same symptoms. Was a bad from u joint. Nissan mechanics and 1 tire shop could not figure it out.

THE ORIGINAL VIBRATION MAY HAVE BEEN TIRES.IF THE LUG NUTS WERE NOT TORQUED BY HAND BUT OVERTIGHTED W/AN AIR RATCHET THE ROTORS MAY HAVE BEEN WARPED.TAKE IT BACK TO WERE THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED AND ASK THEM TO CHECK IT OUT.

Yes, and it probably is your wheel bearing. Hearing a sound like a chain dragging is classic. You may also hear a clicking noise or chain dragging noise when turning to the left or right.
Look under the car and see if the rubber boots that surround the axle near the tires are cracked and leaking grease. If so, it is almost a certainty that the bearings are bad as you have lost grease and thus lubrication to the bearings.

It sounds like your brake rotors are warped. The causes can be going through puddles while brakes are very hot, riding the brakes, excessive city driving etc. The best solution is to replace the rotors.
When the brakes are applied, the vibration is transmitted up through the brake system and you feel it pulsing in the brake pedal and also the steering wheel, etc.
If you have a friend/ relative change them for you, don't buy the cheapest grade. The problem tends to reoccur. I would not hesitate to take it buy a shop to get a first hand opinion of the issue also, because sometimes there are other items we can't diagnose from written descriptions.
